Does anyone have a suggestion for a good disposable nappy? I have tried a couple, but with the baby starting more solids, I need one that will contain well.

Has anyone complained to Huggies? I have in the past when I had an occasional problem with the old Huggies, and they were always really helpful

Bloss - Went to The Nappylady for advice and have just received my Totsbots and wraps etc. Just need to give them a couple of washes as instructed - did you do this with yours or just get on and use them. They do look comfy.

Just put on my Totbots (on my son I mean) and love them already, easy to use, fit lovely and nice and soft and cosy, and he looks so cute

Boo321 · 05/07/2001 12:15

yeah ,I'm a tots bots fan too, only a pity I didn't find them sooner.I asked for velcro on mine so they are so simple to put on.

Joe · 05/07/2001 13:07

Mine are velcro and I wish I had found them earlier. I had always planned to use cloth nappies but I am always in and out and found the idea of terries abit of a fuss (although I will probably use them sometimes at home now I have those nappy nippas)

Bloss - As you are a TB's veteran, what do you find is the best way to dry them, mine seem to take a while, maybe because they are still new (although I think my tumble dryer is not working correctly and we havnt had the very hot weather of late.) Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks Bloss. We have a very windy drying day today so I have just popped the nearly dried ones out on the line and waiting for the machine to finish and rest will go out and I will give them an extra spin to see it that will help. Trouble is I go to work at 2.30 ish (have to pick kids I look after up from work so it will all have to come back in soon) I hope they dry Im running out. In the winter I will have the radiators and airing cupboard for help.

I've read everyone's comments with interest and I know I'll probably get lynched for saying this but I have to put my hands up and say I am a really happy disposable nappy user. Hve used pampers with both my sons and had no problems - to me, despite all you've said, reusable seem like a lot of extra work. Don't shout at me! Just felt I wanted to put in a good word for disposables! thanks

Joe · 23/07/2001 08:50

Housewife - I have used disposables since my son was born, always intending to use cloth nappies. My mum had bought me aload of terry nappies and it seemed such a fuss so havnt used them (and I had used fabric conditioner on them). I was never happy with pampers as they leaked, huggies leaked gel and I mainly used all other makes, George from asda being the fav. Then I decided I was fed up of paying out and heard about tot bots, I contacted the nappy lady who gave great advise. I have being using them for a few weeks now and couldnt be happier with them. Yeah ok I have to do an extra load of washing a day but it really hasnt made any difference. They are fitted so go on just like a disposable and you dont get that horrible lumpy bit in the front when they get wet (I had a lovely photo spoiled by the disposable nappy). I have noticed my sons skin is better and with the fleece liner he is never wet against his skin. I wouldnt go back to disposables now and Im not even going to use them when I go on holiday, even if it means a couple of trips to the laundrette.
