Blimey, never seen this thread like this. However, did notice some people missed me...and I went away because I thought I'd been horrid and you all hated me. I am touched beyond measure. And there are lots of people I miss too. Er, Bloss, can I just say I was thinking of you while mowing the lawn today and even though I don't think we agree on anything I do very much respect you as a person and thoroughly enjoyed debating with you. You are NOT unpopular.

Yes I'm lurking, never have time to read any messages let alone reply to them, but got here tonight since dh is out.

It's okay bloss, I've been a good girl (well a sensible one anyway). Broke off contact with ex weeks (maybe months) ago...sad but I know for the best.

The reason I have been a missing member is cos I'm studying at uni and have been flat out. Finished my p-t job now so things are a little less crazy, but have exams next week - wish me luck!!!

Bossykate - very nice of you to ask! This is the first time I've visited the site for over a week, my longest absence ever in the year or so I've been on here. I felt I was just spending too much time on here to the detriment of other things, like my relationship and reading books and housework! However I have now tidied the front room after 18 months of it being a junk room so maybe I can venture back gradually. My relationship is thankfully less of a worry too. But I really find it difficult not to be addicted to Mumsnet, I have to avoid it completely or check the posts several times a day which takes so much time.

A surprising (to me) ability to be self-disciplined, which unfortunately doesn't seem to extend to trying to avoid alcohol for at least one night a week! I've spent the last 5 minutes reading the authors thread, it's so tempting to join in but that will be the slippery slope! Now I have to go and see what else I've missed, I wonder if the Forsyte Saga thread is still going...

I've been away on holiday for 10 days - when I was away I gave myself a serious talking to about the time I spent on Mumsnet, I enjoyed reading some 'grown up' books on holiday and honestly (sorry girls) didn't think I missed mumsnet ..... but since I've been back I've been up till midnight every night catching up! And haven't finished that book!

Good grief, this thread is long! Lou, I also noticed jimjams isn't around, did a search and she hasn't posted since 11 June - jimjams, hope all is OK.
