Aka le Patatine

Rosa, we missed you! Maybe you need some kind of bell device on your computer for when everyone's online.

I hope your DD1 recovers soon. I don't know anything about teaching at the materna, although I have been asked to go in and teach a few songs ( they obviously haven't heard my singing voice). I don't think you need particular qualifications at that stage, from what I can see it's all done out of a book.

I have written nothing about my pregnancy - is one supposed to? I've got lots of naked photos though from each month, does that count?

NAked photos - I have I think 2 pics of me pg and I insisted that dh take one with minirosa for the record. I have a after birth baby book I got as far as 1st birthday with dd1 and I have had some pics printed off but they are in the Uk ( they were free with photobox!)With minirosa my mum bought a book ...I have done the first page.
DD did not have a long sleep and minirosa was awake all of it ! DD no on sofa eating those Balsen animal shaped biscuits watching Clifford on yoyo. ( Broke the no eating on sofa rule). Minirosa hiccups undder her Pallestra .
Sunflower glad you had a better night may it continue.
Penthe - do a shopping order on line so you can get the crisps hope the bugs vanish from your house soon !!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/01/2009 17:16

I have some dressed bump1 pics and some naked (well, I'm covering those bits though I still woudn't show them, DP showed them to his mum and when she asked for a re-print of the set they were part of I just managed to take them back - she wanted them as well, but no-way!!). bump2 I managed to take pics of myself and DS (unfortunately I'm the photographer here so if I don't get the camera out, no-one will) 4 wks before DD was born - not easy fitting a big belly by yourself, I needed longer arms

will be naughty tonight, and cook oven chips and fishfingers, there's only me and DS and really can't be asked...

I had to watch that patatine ad today as DH was sat next to me yesterday and would've taken the piss.
Anyway, I noticed some Amica patatine today in the supermarket and couldn't resist a snigger!

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 19:12

Ciao a tutte.
Hi fragoluccia and welcome. I'm not bilingual, but I lived in the UK for 8 yrs. Still have a dodgy Italian accent though . Our dc were more or less bilingual until we left the UK last year and came back to Italy. Sadly, I must report that they lost their lovely devonian accent. Still their English is better than most here

Rosa, sorry to hear your dd is unwell again (typical first year in italy).
I'm also banging my head in shame for not having had the presenza di spirito do text you yesterday to lure you on here .

Well today I actually sold lots of stuff . ANd it was good fun, really, though I panicked with the registratore di cassa (tecnophobe).

Penthe, I wouldn't worry about your dd's Italian, as long as your dh perseveres speaking only in Italian to her. We know a couple (him Italian her English. They live in the UK, not much contact with paternal gp) whose dd (now 8 I think) speaks an amazing Italian. I'm going to email you in a minute, after having eaten my superb steak...

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 19:25

Rosa we did miss you, I kept waiting for your 'voice' to pop up.

both dd in bed and dh out; pizza in the oven and friend own manuscrpt to read - pure bliss!

welcome fragoluccia. where are you based then? I wasn't brought up bilingual. the dds are. for the time being with great success but who knows. Dd1 nursery is fab in the sense that they forbade (is this correct?) me to stop speaking italian. and although she's not brilliant in english she has been making huge progress. I bet she'll be a bit behing in reception but she'll be fine I'm sure.

have one pics of me pg with dd1. and a few with dd2. both thanks to my mum, as for me the last thing I wanted is to be photographed feeling like an elephant.

ah today went swimming in a heated outdoor pool (frrezing and raining). it was fantastic. will try to keep it up and have body like next am suopermodel by the summer !

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 19:51

Penthe have emailed you.
Pippi, I'm alone too tonight. Have just had the most amazing steak with chips and salad.... mmmmmmmmm

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:04

I got the most crappy Pizza from pizza express which I only got because was half price. it was small, chewy and finta!!

mi consolero' con un po' di custard!!

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 20:10

bleurgh.
I don't have any pudding. But I do have NOVI dark choc with hazel nuts.

Penthesileia · 23/01/2009 20:10

Have replied, franca.

We had steak too! It's hilarious watching DD gnaw voraciously at little strips of steak, the savage carnivore that she is!

But no chips here. Boo.

Sorry - didn't say Ciao to Fragoluccia!

Penthesileia · 23/01/2009 20:11

Or chocolate, goddammit!

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:13

don't like Novi.

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 20:18

Don't you? I think it's the best among the "cheap" ones.

Penthe, I'm impressed by your dd. They usually aren't keen on beef to start with. Mind you, dd had a passion for prosciutto crudo.

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:21

mum and dh like it. I like perugina (childhood taste) and green and black and drost and lindt etc etc

the other day I bought a veal escalope dor dd and thought I'd have to fight for her to eat more than 3 bits. 3 seconds later she had finished it and stole bits of mine. mind you was very tender. so happy veal has started to be more available.

Penthesileia · 23/01/2009 20:22

She's pretty good, actually. She tries everything and seems to enjoy it all. Even cheese and other stodge (e.g. gnocchi - bleurgh!) which she must get from her Ligurian father, as I don't much like it...

I wonder if I could have a piece of panettone? Hmmmm....

Would prefer chips, chocolate, and Monster Munch, though....

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:22

droste obviously.

don't know which is cheap or not. not fam with italian prices.

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 20:28

Oh, I'm a bit snobby with chocolate, so for me "cheap" chocolate is the one you buy in supermarkets. Then there is proper chocolate, like Giraudi, for instance. Novi I find much better than Lindt. Perugina, only the one with big blokes.

Awwwww Penthe, so cute, when they hoover whatever is on hand!

Pippi, I couldn't find veal in exeter. I had to beg dh to drive to Waitrose in Sidmouth . I loved going to waitrose (pathetic emoticon]

Penthesileia · 23/01/2009 20:28

Ha ha - DH wanted Veal with tuna sauce (vitello tonnato [sp?]??) once, and we had to order it from Waitrose specially. I felt all black market, creeping up to the meat counter man to ask for our kg of veal...

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 20:29

Green and black was very good

francagoestohollywood · 23/01/2009 20:30

lol at bribing the butcher to get the vitello

Penthesileia · 23/01/2009 20:31
PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:34

'big blokes'??? I want that one too franca grin]!!! (yes that one I mean).

how expensive is this giraudi then? onc we bought a bar of 'handmade' chock in bath for 7pounds no?

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/01/2009 20:36

DO THEY DO VITELLO TONNATO IN WAITROSE???????????????????? will be there tomorrow all'alba!!! I did bring it from home more than once (from special butcher). ahhh even dh is a convert.
