Kleenex Balsam tissues.

There's more, will think

ILoveBrucie · 10/01/2009 18:02

Including food?

Has to be organic milk

have long since resorted to cheapo clingfilm and loo paper (for the dcs) , obviously not for my delicate bottom

bran · 10/01/2009 18:03

Filetti - other washing powder kicks off DS's eczema
Brabantia bin liners - I'm not sure why really, I just like them, they're nice and sturdy.

Agree balsam tissues

some food products such as helmans mayo and decent meat

SalBySea · 10/01/2009 18:09

loo roll, the cheap stuff runs out so quickly that it is a false economy

Ecover (or similar) washing up liquid, hand soap and washing powder, cheap stuff gives DH eczema and makes my hands really dry

SalBySea · 10/01/2009 18:12

oh yeah and meat - I cannot bear cheap bacon etc, I think you can taste the fish meal that the pigs are fed from it and its GREEN FOR GOD'S SAKE!
Same with mince - mince is not supposed to be grey, I can instantly taste if meat is from somewhere like ASDA even if its in a bolognese or something.
Mind you I think my butchers is actually cheaper than some supermarkets so not sure if that counts

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 18:14

bin bags, cling film and meat

ILoveBrucie · 10/01/2009 18:14

Oh yes bin bags have to be brabantia

andaSOLOnewyear · 10/01/2009 18:28

Toilet roll, the cheap stuff rolls up as it gets 'damp' and your fingers go through it EUW!
Washing up liquid...false economy.
Washing powder...I like what I like.
Shower gel...cheap ones dry my skin out.

andaSOLOnewyear · 10/01/2009 18:59

Kitchen roll. I used to buy the really cheap stuff, but then discovered Bounty and that lasts so much longer.
Kellogs cornflakes ~ there is no substitute! Don't buy them often these days because they are so expensive, but I do like them
Sanitary towels ~ just no!

lljkk · 10/01/2009 19:01

I have never bought clingfilm, cannot imagine why people waste their money on it, lol.

advocateofthedevil · 10/01/2009 19:02

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 10/01/2009 19:03

loo roll - i wont use ones that look rough and also it has to be the cod fillett birdseye fish fingers

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/01/2009 19:03

Organic eggs and milk, and Cafe Direct coffee. I tried buying the ordinary Sainsbury coffee - it was fine as far as I was concerned, but DH noticed and insisted we bought the Cafe Direct stuff.

Definitely agree re clingfilm. Bought some Sainsbury's Basics stuff and it was awful.

Quattrocento · 10/01/2009 19:04

I don't economise much tbh. The area where we do economise is on portion control - so good quality stuff but not much of it (when it comes to food).

Things I'd never compromise on are:

Coffee
Tea
Milk
Meat
Fruit
Loo roll

janeite · 10/01/2009 19:04

I buy Sainsbury's Clean Home washing liquid and conditioner - they're very good, very gentle/dermatologically tested for sensitive skin, environmentally friendly and cheaper.

CioccolataCalda · 10/01/2009 19:16

DH says cheap champagne is not worth bothering with!!!

georgiemum · 10/01/2009 19:17
