Anyone watch this item on This Morning this morning?
It was great, a real breath of fresh air, even the mum who left her 20 mnth old alone on a potty for half an hour and returned to a room and a dd smeared with poo.

Does anyone fancy exposing their own worst BadMamma moment? (I'll be admitting mine forthwith - just have to summon the courage....)

(Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the founders are amongst us on mumsnet. If you are out there reading this, give us a clue.
Are you out there?)

Agree with everyone about the BMC, flirted with it briefly too but there isn't time for both and mumsnet's better imo. Definitely harder to read BMC threads because of the software/layout etc.

Clarinet60 · 24/04/2003 22:57

I agree. I haven't bothered with it since the This Morning week. Mumsnet can't be beaten.

DS running around this morning with his policement helmet on running round going ne-na etc really loud, after I had politely asked 3 times no stop that he was still continuing, on his next lap I grabbed the hat while he was still running and forgot the it had a piece of elastic to keep it in place, it pinged back and I can still hear the sound it made when it hit him on the head. Sorry son , he is alright now though.

I probably shouldn't laugh at that, Breeze, but I am!

If it makes you feel any better soupie, I was grinning as I was typing it

I thought it was really funny to step out of the way when my daughter was running up to me one day (she was 2.5 years)and was one of those days when you just think everything is funny - what I forgot was she is one of those kids who runs everywhere and has problems with the stopping part - the wall wasn't damaged but I spent the next two hours letting her do things like finger painting and baking cookies as I felt so bad.

I also told her something which I think is really bad but thought was really funny at the time - we were walking to visit a friend and she fell over the cracks in a paving slab - she asked me how they got there - I try to think up amusing answers sometimes - and if you knew how many questions she asked you would understand why!! -anyway - I told her that naughty fat people who eat too many cakes cracked all of the paving slabs whilst walking on them, my partner gave me a knowing look and said that was rather a silly thing to say to a 2.5 year old!! - I realised it was when we got to my friends house and her rather large mother opened the door - my daughter immediatly piped up with 'mummy, is that the fat lady who eats too many cakes and broke all of the floor?' - I was mortified especially as she does not eat cakes - is diabetic and has thyroid problem!! - now we take twice as long to go anywhere as she will not walk on the cracked paving slabs - she is like Jack Nicholson in As good as it gets, only tiny, blonde and cute!!

When DD was about 3, DH and I had to go somewhere and then drive on to my parents, so about 2 hours drive in total. As usual we were late leaving and in a rush and on the way to my parents DD kept complaining that her stomach hurt. I immediately worried that she was coming down with something and when we eventually arrived at my parents around 2pm asked them if they had any calpol and gave her some. it wasn't until my mother asked if we wanted anything to eat that I realised that not only had I not given DD any lunch, we had been in such a rush to leave I hadn't given her any breakfast either. it was no wonder that her stomach hurt!

megg · 02/06/2003 11:00

We went for lunch at a pub where the way in was these really big glass doors, ds ran on ahead I shouted watch out for the doors and you guessed it he went slap bang right into them. Dp and I just fell about laughing while ds stood there in shock having this old granny coo-ing over him and giving us really disapproving looks for laughing at him.

Can I join after yesterday's events?

DD is 13 months old. Had to call at the nurse yesterday to have my BP checked. Was really long wait and Dd was getting bored. I let her have a little run about in an empty corridor. She got a bit excited and managed to fall and hit the side of her head on a chair arm. She cried out, got up and started playing again. However, less than five minutes later she ran and tripped, and fell headfirst into the fire exit doors. She has a hude bump and bruise on her forehead now, and she really did sob. The nurse checked it for me and she seems okay. But, i felt so bad - all those other parents could see what was happening; it was horrible.

Ds2 fell asleep in his highchair today because I was on Mumsnet for so long.

GeorginaA · 27/06/2003 08:31

Oh God ... just gave ds his breakfast cereal and he ate loads... was just clearing up and I've just realised that the milk was off

So, what sort of food poisoning do you get from gone off milk then?

SoupDragon · 27/06/2003 08:35

Nothing - DS1 has taken a large drink from an old beaker of milk once or twice.

I had just finished changing ds's nappy on the floor in the sitting rooms whilst watching a really interesting episode of Eastenders. As I was engrossed in my favourite programme, ds crawled of the changing mat and over to the tub of sudocrem behind me. I had not yet put the lid on the tub, and ds decided to dip in and eat the sudocrem. When I finally turned around (after Eastenders had finished) he had sudocrem all over his face and hands and was smacking his lips with glee. As the label reads 'seak medical advice if accidentally swallowed' a call to NHS direct had to be made.

georgina
reminds me of when my sis was ill and my mum gave her a glass of milk and at the bottom was a drowned SLUG - mmmm tasty.
Well my new entry in bad mummy club is last week when I took ds out on the patio in his new baby walker but didn't put any shoes on him so he could 'run free' - off he went running faster and faster - he must be having fun I though. After a few minutes he started crying so I chased him a bit thinking he was bored. A few minutes later he cried more. I picked him up and realised his poor little feet were boiling hot from the hot tiles. Needless to say I was wearing sandals at the time! No wonder he was running so fast

SoupDragon · 27/06/2003 14:54

LOL, Morocco! I know I shouldn't...

LadyP · 27/06/2003 18:08

I gave DS a slice of pizza for lunch last weekend which was called 'Massive on Meat'.

Now I should have read the box for the ingredients, but normally meat feast pizzas are plain minced beef, ham, pepperoni (all things I know that DS likes).

Anyway, it was cool enough to eat, but he kept yelling and clawing at his tongue when he ate pieces.

Once I had taken a bite of my own slice, it was then that I realised it was chilli minced beef.

I felt dreadful, dh kept going on about checking the box, etc.

Still, once he had a drink, DS still continued to tuck into the pizza, so he must be developing a taste for the hot stuff
