I just do.

I am soooo jealous of anyone who lives there.

I've travelled a fair bit and it's still one of my favourite places in the whole wide world.

I'm going to live there one day .

Ooh yes, Sennen Cove and Cadgwith too.

Oh to have it all on my doorstep!

Tintagel Pasty Shop

Ohhhhh ... soooo hungry now [drooling emoticon]

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/02/2005 22:14

Pasties - yum!

Is there a quintessential pasty recipe out there? There's lots of controversy about what goes in to a pasty and how it should be made.

JoolsToo · 26/02/2005 00:27

justmummy · 26/02/2005 09:11

Hi, its so lovely to hear you all say such nice things about Cornwall. I've lived here all my life - currently live just outside St Austell, not far from the eden project.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else - don't always think this in the height of the tourist season though, the roads just get so jammed. But being a local i know all the back roads!

marthamoo · 26/02/2005 09:12

Envy , justmummy. Though I do think that it must be less fun in the summer when it's heaving with tourists.

ragtaggle · 26/02/2005 18:51

I do too. Am going to stay at a cottage in Porthleven in May. Can anyone recommend nice days out/walks etc? (We have babysitting arranged for two nights so good places to go in the evening would be useful too!)

Lonelymum · 26/02/2005 18:52

Puff, join the club! I am determined to live there one day. Dh and I have decided it will probably be when we are retired though!

MummytoSteven · 26/02/2005 18:53

oooooh I love Cornwall, especially St. Ives and Penzance, Looe and Mevagissey/Fowey

I don't think it would be so magical if I lived their tho - i think being there on holidays is very different to being there full time.

MummytoSteven · 26/02/2005 18:53

one thing that amazed me about St. Austell is the main street seemed to have vast numbers of solicitors offices - and all I wanted waas to find a takeaway

Lonelymum · 26/02/2005 18:54

MTS my grandmother's family came from Mevagissey and my grandfather's came from near Wadebridge. I feel I am at my spiritual home when I am there - wierd feeling.

joash · 26/02/2005 18:55

Please stop talking about Cornwall - Not been for three weeks and I've got to wait until the summer before we move there. Feeling all crappy ... need to move NOW pleeeeaaasseee.

Whizzz · 26/02/2005 18:55

Oooo just booked a week near Lands End in June . We love it. Didn't go last year & I really missed the wonderful scenery. We've not stayed down near Lands End for a few years so it will be nice to revisit. Usually have stayed N Cornwall. I was so sad when the Boscastle flood happened & washed away my favourite little shop . We stayed in the village one year & it was lovely.

MummytoSteven · 26/02/2005 18:56

so you keen to retire to the Mevagissey area then, LM?

joash · 26/02/2005 18:57

Still blub like a fool when anyone mentions Cornwall.

Lonelymum · 26/02/2005 18:58

Maybe but I know Wadebridge area much better. To be honest, Truro would suit me best.

joash · 26/02/2005 18:58

Sorry - that should have been "when anyone mentions Boscastle" - trying to persuade Dh to buy a house there

Whizzz · 26/02/2005 19:01

I have been watching the prg about the lady vicar in Boscastle - just to see how they were all doing ! I love(d?) the little art gallery there that sells the funny Clives Cats pics (I have 4 hanging in my loo!)

Whizzz · 26/02/2005 19:04

Clives Cats here - if you want a giggle

joash · 26/02/2005 19:05

Although I'm miserable about all of the damage- it's the museum that gets me - and the Pixie house. I'd been walking there with GS a few days before the flood.

joash · 26/02/2005 19:06

And we'd been sat outside the museum having an ice cream and talking to Graham, the guy that own it.

Surfermum · 26/02/2005 19:40

Me, me, me. I love Cornwall and get down there as often as I can. My favourite place of all is Polperro but out of season. I also love Fowey, Polzeath for surfing, Newquay out of season, St Ives, Helford, St Anthony....

The best pub in the whole world is in Polperro - the Blue Peter.

I'm so excited as I'm going for a week at the beginning of April. Counting the days.

Lonelymum · 26/02/2005 19:54

Surfermum, I can just see you in Polzeath! Have been going there for 40 years now () and still go once a year at least. Even dh (australian) likes surfing at Polzeath! Where do you stay when you are there?

Xena · 26/02/2005 19:56

Lonleymum IKWYM feel its my home too. But I never have lived there. My and Dad are in wadebridge this weekend . We subscribed to their local paper for a while so we could look for jobs but nothing ever came of it. The DH and DC's love it there too
