Hi
Are there any older mums out there i.e. those who have had a baby at 35++. We are increasing in number.

It is in active conversations or other subjects, whichever way you prefer to search .....
men are always about 12, arent' they?

If ws 34 having dd and 37 having ds and that was 5 years ago, so I am ancient!

Davros · 22/02/2005 18:50

Haven't read all of this, too long. Just to say you all sound v young to me, I had no 2 at 43, I'm now 45 with a 2 year old toddler. No negative comments but you'd be more likely to get that round here if you were 23!

PhDMumof1 · 22/02/2005 18:51

well done Davros - I would like 3 so you are an inspiration

Davros · 22/02/2005 20:12

I've been called somethings in my time.....!!

Polina · 22/02/2005 20:22

I didn't meet up with dh until I was 35 and was 37 when I fell pregnant with ds, but everyone has been pretty supportive - the only upsetting thing was reading "geriatric primagravida" on my notes! I suppose the nearest thing was from my gynaecologist, who said that if I was planning to have more than two more I should get a wiggle on.... I did feel very old in my antenatal classes though, as my fellow students were all in their 20s and spent a lot of time discussing the local nightlife - I ended up feeling about 102.

Merlin · 22/02/2005 20:37

Polina - lol at the ante natal classes - I'm 42 and expecting no2 and am going to classes next week, sure I will feel like everyones granny!!!!! (Although I have to say I don't look it! !)

almost40 · 22/02/2005 21:11

Good luck, Merlin. Why are you going to classes with no. 2? How old is your first?

Merlin · 22/02/2005 21:29

Almost40 - well it will get me outof the house!!! DS is 4 and I had emergency section, so didn't get to put anything I learnt about labour into practice - can't remember much at all so thought it would be helpful.

Davros · 22/02/2005 22:31

Didn't bother with any classes or clinics with no 2, do they think they can teach their grandmother to suck eggs!

Never a comment, never a look, nada, nothing. I think I look quite young for my age in my Primark specials. I was 38 when I had ds and 41 when I had dd (five weeks ) and don't feel remotely old. Enjoying myself a lot, actually. I think 35 is young, I really do.

I was very suprised to find that i was having another baby at 42. I was 43 when he was born. my oldest was 23 and thought it was disgusting but now hes here they all love him. the pregancy was a lot harder and i ended up having a c section. Although i get more tired than i did before i feel very lucky to have him.
