OOh thanks Demented - the halterneck looks really nice. (Will probably buy the normal strappy one's from BHS again as they were only £14).

noddyholder · 04/02/2005 14:26

halternecks?..now whats the deal with no boobs and halternecks (oh and do i need to mention fat ass)

PicadillyCircus · 04/02/2005 14:30

Thank you everyone .

I'm sure TopShop didn't do maternity clothes when I was pg with DS (and he's only 14 months).

Have no idea what sort of bump I'll get but feel certain it will be large. And I'll be larger in the summer than I was last time (DS was a November baby).

I did have some Next things last time; they were good from what I remember.

There's a hennes somewhere around here; will try it later on in the system.

I think it's because I normally look good in floaty skimpy things and last summer I was breastfeeding so not wearing skimpy things and the year before I was a moderately shaped elephant.

So I haven't worn nice summer clothes since 2002.

Demented · 04/02/2005 14:32

Provided you've got your bra size right then they will stay up. I'm a 32E and have one of the ones with the thin straps (which are so thin there is no way they are doing any of the supporting) and they stay put, it's the bra bit inside that does the work.

nailpolish · 04/02/2005 14:41

i read that topshop were starting to do mat clothes the day after i had dd2, pic.circus (and shes only 4 mths) so its a very recent thing

beansontoast · 04/02/2005 14:41

ahhh...are you answering me?..my prob is the exact reverse.no bra required ever [ambivalent face]

beansontoast · 05/02/2005 19:21

just seen a pic of kylie minogue in a fairly plain summer dress...guess what's gonna be all the rage?

oh and petrol blue is the colour to instantly date your wardrobe come autumn...

[not sure if that makes sense]

posyhairdresser · 08/02/2005 16:51

I have just bought some very wide belts - 1 plaited, one jewelled with a medallion - that is my interim fashion fix - v cheap at New Look.

Ethnic jewelery is hot. Wallis is good, so is East.

Patterned wellies - everywhere incl Asda

Metallics & tie dye!

Orchid hair corsages, curly hair

Gypsy look, smocks, empire line & safari are big so you are in there with that jacket

Bootlegs OUT, oxford bags/ skinny legs IN (pants to thaT)

I am trying to smarten myself up a bit, and change my style a bit but i have just lost the knack of clothes shopping for me completely.

I like alot of the stuff in the shops at the mo but always manage to talk myself out of it.

tamum · 08/02/2005 17:19

Nutty, a phrase my friend used to use a lot when we went clothes shopping together was "you'll get your wear out of that". I found it strangely comforting, and always bought whatever it was she was referring to. You could try that!

Clayhead · 08/02/2005 17:30

demented, I'm 32E too and those strappy tops are the best, just amazing. Having never been able to wear anything like that before I come over all over excited about them.

The shops are great too (well, the Manchester one is).

From March to November I live in shorts and sleeveless shirts.

Is it because you don't get a lot of summer that so much thought goes into what to wear?

I have just lost confidence in my own judgemnet i think.

I was really annoyed with myself the other day cos i saw a skirt and jacket that i liked but didn't even try them on because i thought 'what if everyone thinks they look naff'.

ImuststopdrinkingBlossomhill · 08/02/2005 17:54

I am very much a vest and nice linen skirt girl. Also love cropped jeans and denim skirts. I tend to wear some of my things over and over as I hate to be a fashion victim although will buy a few new items.
One thing I have a fetish for is sandals though. I buy loads, esp. from Primark as they are really nice and really cheap
