Okay, this is ridiculous, but I have been dying to say this to someone (besides DH who completely doesn't get it). I very rarely have bought clothes in the last 10 years (too busy having babies). And what I did buy was from charity shops, so old sizing & styles. Most of my old stuff (and we're talking 8-15 years old) in the wardrobe was size 14 in jeans & tops. Outside of pregnancy I would have told you I was size 10-12 in jeans, size 12-14 in tops. But then recently I bought new clothes, for first time in a decade or more, from a variety of shops & the results were:
5'8"
size 14-16 in tops
size 8 in trousers.
Size ruddy 8? Is the average British woman so pear-shaped & I never noticed?! I just don't get it, something seriously weird has happened to British clothes sizes in last 10 years.
