"the good old days" well according to my inlaws - they lasted until around 1998 (I arrived in the country in 1997) And indeed while I was there in 1997 and 1998 (99 wasn't so good) I certainly saw plenty of evidence of the 'good life'........

I just think it's a shame that some people have to live in the past - Rhodesia is dead and gone - Zimbabwe the rainbow nation is there now - and has been for many years.

I agree Gwenick but its the old folk who are now left with nothing I think about. I have a aunt who cant get no pension, meat is a luxury. once every two weeks maybe. She just lives on what we can send her. Hey I love Zim / Rhod if we were allowed to let by gones be by gones then our children could have made that a great country.

Rhodie - when was the last time you went to Zim........last time I was there there were still plenty of whites acting, talking and living like they still lived in Rhodesia - not in Zimbabwe

sorry guys - i'm N Irish myself and don't completely understand it all (specially when inebriated), but then not many who aren't Irish understand the whole Irish thing either, but dh did grow up in Bulawayo though his parents were from Ireland originally.

I took my child their 3 yrs ago, to meet her aunt. I enjoyed it but people were moaning about what was happening and everyone was struggling, these were not whites. I grew up with whites and non whites. I went to a non whites school.

I hope not LOU so think something behind the computer will be unattached tonight for a couple of days
