Should Europe stop all non Western Immigration? Thaughts?

I’ve been reading about a big petition doing the rounds at the moment called the Save Europe Act. It was launched recently by a Dutch commentator named Eva Vlaardingerbroek.

It is a European Citizens' Initiative aimed at the EU. It has already gained over 500,000 signatures. If it reaches 1 million, the European Commission is legally forced to review it.

I am a Polish citizen but I used to live in the UK. Because I have EU citizenship, I am actually eligible to sign it, and I have already signed it myself. However, because of Brexit, British citizens living in the UK cannot sign it.

Essentially, the petition demands very strict anti-migration policies across the EU. Here are the main points:

Total Migration Freeze: Stopping all non-Western and non-European migration. This includes work, study, and family visas.

Mass Remigration: Creating an EU framework to deport certain migrants.

Cutting Benefits: Removing financial incentives and welfare for non-European migrants.

Cultural Identity: Prioritizing the preservation of European cultural heritage.

I'm really curious to know what people here think about it. Does Europe need to take drastic measures like this, or do these demands go way too far?

There’s an ageing population in much of Europe with the economic implications already biting so how will things work?

What does remigration mean? And who does it apply to?

British unis already collapsing. Deport the Chinese and Indian students paying double the fees and they will collapse entirely. No European will come here to study at those fees.

Go ahead but you'll hurt care sector and broader healthcare, universities who depend on international students, tech, bioengineering, and general innovation, etc

Wasn’t there talk about a lot of overseas students defaulting on their loans and disappearing, not necessarily the ones mentioned in your post

Students from outside of the EU are not eligible for loans. Students from china, India, Africa etc are usually paying out of their own pocket or (rarely) have a loan from their country.

I disagree, because I'm neither a thick racist bigot nor do I have Nazi tendencies.
My boss is a Muslim woman - best boss I've ever had and we trust each other implicitly. Her brother is a doctor within the NHS. Why on earth would I want them excluded from the UK just because of their religion or colour?

Can't wait to see Rishi Sunak take advantage of the generous 'repatriation package' offered by a pp. 😂. And all the Pakistani/ Indian doctors, among others.

Interesting that British doctors who flee to Australia aren't told they should be working to help the NHS back home. Because it's fine for them to go where they want.

What even is a European Cultural Identity? Do Poles, Spaniards and Greeks share one cultural identity?
