it's 90 mins long www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b00byhz2.shtml?src=ip_potpw

fascinating so far

"Following 48 hours in the lives of 22 British children to see what they get up to, as a panel of childhood experts try to determine if childhood in Britain really is in crisis."

with Queen Tanya Byron and other experts

it's about looking after your children too closely, and worrying about them too much .. I'm guilty .. I'll bet you are too

I admire Tanya Byron and didn't think that she came across as over-bearing in anyway, just articulate and informed with a real passion for her subject. She made some great points. The cognitive points are important because parents are always questioning with disbelief why children do such silly things and it is simply because they are not yet ready to weigh up risks and make assured judgments.

I agree with the pro-Tanya comments .. but then I'm smitten by rocky-chick

Thanks for pointing out this programme - lots to think about...

There is an article in today's Times2 (sorry, computer narky and not letting me into site to link) about the uproar and bile directed at a journalist allowing her 9yo son to travel around NY on public transport unaccompanied..
