I've booked an appointment for a fitting at Rigby and Pellers - is it really worth it?

Soooo jealous, I'd love to go there and throw myself totally at their mercy!!! Unfortunately I'm about 200 miles away

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/05/2008 22:34

Ooooh yes yes yes.

The best bra I ever ever had.

The best £60 I ever ever spent.

Be prepared for the staff to 'rummage' in the bra cups to hoick your nipples into place, and note that they judge by eye not by tape.

I am so jealous.

Never been to Brent Cross - the one in Knightsbridge is fab though. They make you feel a stone lighter and absolutely gorgeous.

They get you stuff you never thought you would ever see yourself in

Are you getting anything special??

You will love it. They have fab stuff! Enjoy - let us know what racy stuff you get (no white stuff please!)

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/05/2008 22:42

Enjoy, and let us know how you get on

Alambil · 23/05/2008 11:17

What if they tell you you're 10 cup sizes bigger than you think you are? I'm paranoid about that happening!

pagwatch · 23/05/2008 11:22

I took my mother who found that whilst she was wearing a 38B she was atually a 34G.
I bought her two bra and she now follows behind the most amazing rack I have ever seen on a pensioner.
It made her look slimmer and improved her posture and her self image 100%.
So worth it

( unless you are like me and find 36AA to be still to big. Dammit)

Buda · 23/05/2008 11:27

It's fab!

I went from wearing very uncomfortable 46Bor 48A to wearing 40E! And I looked and felt so much better. Even have a cleavage that I never thought i had!

The bras are not cheap and I spent about 200 pounds on 3 bras and 3 pairs of pants to match - DH was shocked but as I said it is cheap for that increase in cup size!!! Surgery would be MUCH more!

I handwash the bras and they do last well.

Am on second lot now - have found an on-line underwear shop that do the brand that R&P recommended and I order from them now.

motherinferior · 23/05/2008 11:27

I came out looking really youthful and perky because suddenly I had the norks of a 20something, not a 40something matron.

Be warned. You will spend money. And then you will return and spend money. However, you will also get the odd ogle, which is something that when I was a 20something I found quite madly offensive and now cling to as desperate proof I am not quite past it yet.

tissy · 23/05/2008 20:36

yep, I thought I was a 34b.

Lovely lady at R+P had a quick shuftie and came back with 32dd and 30e.

Buda · 23/05/2008 20:48

Well I thought I was a 46A and was a 40E so you may well be a 30E!!!

Not embarassing. They told me to take my top off and then judged my size from me and my current bra.

No tutting.

florencefosterjenkins · 23/05/2008 23:10

This brings back memories..my then boyfriend (now DH) sent me in there and promised to pay for the necessaries. I went in a long-term, self-guessed & permanently uncomfortable 36C and came out a well-kitted-up, beautifully-supported and extremely-surprised-at-the-measurement 32DD. Only vaguely embarrassing, but well-worth it! They just take one look at your naked top-half & pronounce your size (quietly)..f

meglet · 24/05/2008 19:19

I went once (wearing my scuzzy jeans, nothing posh) and they were fab. They are lovely and matronly. Your credit card might get a bashing though.

I went to the Knightsbridge store there was a photo of the queen in my changing room, I was topless in front the queen .

colander · 24/05/2008 19:23

oh I'm so envious! Let us know...

MuffinMclay · 24/05/2008 19:29

Has anyone gone and been told that they are actually already wearing the right size?

Flame · 24/05/2008 19:33

First time I went - fabulous

Second time - big let down

I have no idea which one I went to (non-Londoner alert ), but they were doing it up in April which I think it why it was crap.

motherinferior · 25/05/2008 20:59

I am rather in that my latest R&Pers are F cups.

F CUPS.

Cor. I am in awe of my own norks.

Flamesparro · 25/05/2008 21:15

Mine have shrunk to minuscule 32Es.

How is it that going down to an E can make you feel teeny when it is still huge compared to many?

foofi · 25/05/2008 21:19

I hate R&P. Have been twice, spent a fortune each time, and always ended up with bras I can't breathe in and almost never wear again.

M&S have much nicer, cheaper things, and you can take them back if you get home and think WTF?
