Does anyone smoke anymore? And if so why?

This is not aiming to lecture or judge anyone who smokes cigarettes (not vaping) as yous are all grown ups and know about the effects of smoking etc...but I genuinely don't know anyone who smokes cigarettes anymore ...I know a lot of people who vape instead. Wondering why people still smoke in this day and age? as it's also ££££, unhealthy blah blah.....

@RampantIvy Weirdly I had a bad accident and was in a coma for several weeks. I'd then been awake but still in hospital for a while but had 'forgotten' that I was previously a smoker. Until a friend came to visit and made some throwaway comment along the lines of 'knowing how much you smoke, I'm surprised you haven't been going batty for a fag stuck in here' and my brain went 'PING!' just like that I suddenly remembered I smoked and craved it again. Bit sad really as if no one had mentioned, I might have completely forgotten forever!

It's a crutch and my only vice. I don't drink, do drugs, am vegetarian, and I enjoy it. I don't inflict it on anyone else either. I have a life limiting condition and that will get me long before smoking does.
