Do you sleep with your hair tied up…

… or are you a total crazy person? just curious coz I used to sleep with it down and very long and I have no idea how I managed 😂 sometimes my hair would get caught in my armpit as I was rolling over and I’d be stuck 😂

I have no idea now how people sleep without tying their hair up, but I wanna know if this is normal! The places your brain wanders when you can’t sleep 🥴

I usually do but it's now shoulder length. The other night I didn't tie it back and I also didn't remove my mascara. I woke up and I looked like Beetlejuice 😂

I have long hair and cannot sleep with my hair up, that would drive me mad.

In bunches as it's wavy curly.

I've always had long hair, never tied it up at night. It's never been a problem. Confused

Same here

I do because I'm menopausal and far too hot in the night for my long hair to be all over me too Grin

Same!

If I sleep with it down, I wake up looking like Sideshow Bob and have to grab the straighteners.

Mind you, my hair is starting to snap a bit now due to wearing it up but it's still better than straightening it every morning.

I can't use a scrunchie because they fall out.

I used to until I read about traction alopecia (where your hair follicles get damaged by repeatedly pulling on the hair the same way - eg. night after night the same way you roll on it for example) ultimately leading to hair loss.

You can get the same problem from always pulling it tightly into a pony tail.

I often wear my hair up in the day so after researching this, decided it was better for the hair to have it down at night.

Traction alopecia: Causes, treatment, and prevention

Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by tight hairstyles. Caught early, it is fully reversible and the hair can regrow. Learn more about treatment.

My hair is down to my bum and thick as shipping rope when braided, which is how I used to wear it to bed until recently when I rolled over too vigorously and whipped my husband in the face with said braid. Gave him a bruise!

I've been trying space buns to keep it out of the way since then. I absolutely couldn't sleep with it down, I'd wake up looking like Hagrid for one, and I'd spend the entire night thinking a spider was on me.

I put my hair in plaits in the summer months or on holiday in a warm climate.

Always down, can’t stand the feel of the hair bobble if I wear a ponytail to bed.
