The Park is a nice area, close to the city centre (although that’s not so nice nowadays!) plus convenient for the High School and QMC.
I’ve lived in West Bridgford for 20 years and brought my children up here. The state schools here were the best in Notts when I moved here. It’s c10 minutes from Nottingham in the car ( dependent upon traffic) and not much further from QMC.
It’s home to Trent Bridge cricket ground, 2 football teams, an M & S food hall, numerous bars and restaurant, Waterstones, Oliver Bonas, restaurants of all nationalities (incl Cote Brasserie and Wagamama plus numerous decent independents), coffee shops, fortnightly farmer’s market plus plant market in the summer, a library and a nice park. The Castle Healthcare Centre is amazing (QMC linked) and there are plenty of good private dentists.
Rushcliffe Council are great, the parks are well maintained and there are events during the summer (outdoor cinema etc) and at Xmas.
It’s a great place for kids to grow up safely and have some independence. Virgin and David Lloyd gyms nearby plus small yoga and reformer studios.
Plenty of walks along the river/ golf course and fields.
Lady Bay adjoins West Bridgford and has the feel of a smaller community. Lots of creative people live there. 5-15 min walk to WB town centre or the river.
FHP Living list some of the better properties.
