Hello

I recently moved in with my partner - it's his house, and he recently renovated and spent alot on it etc!

Anyway I was cooking the other evening whilst he was out and my saucepan was bubbling up very quickly so moved onto work surface for literally 5 seconds and when I got it off it had burnt the surface. It's only size of a pea if not smaller, but still I feel sick to my stomach about it - I went to garage and got some filler as it's almost a little hole, and it does look better as side is also white, I'm waiting for it to dry the going to file it down flat.

I'm soooo worried about telling him 😣😣😣

Any advice on how I should? I done it yesterday. I put a cleaning spray over it when he got home, I feel like I've ruined his home! It was really a honest mistake.

Thanks

@CountryCousin Can you go away if nothing good to say? Thanks.

@CountryCousin perfectly normal to feel worried or a bit panicked about telling someone you've done something wrong! Doesn't mean my life situation is worrying or I'm in danger or we are going to break up, people are so quick to judge - I find it weird. I came on here to ask for some advice on how to tell him, as I'm angry at myself for doing it as not my house in MY eyes. Not his.

That’s where I have my worktop saver just to the left of my hob. That will sort it.

@24Dogcuddler I've ordered one thank you ☺️
I'm also going to tell him as I want to be honest about it x

@elb90

How bloody rude.

People are only trying to look out for you.

@LanaDelReyGigChauffer no this person really wasn't- they came on judging my life situation, I asked about a kitchen worktop.

You wanted advice on HOW TO TALK TO YOUR PARTNER about a small error you'd made?

Re read that a few times

It screams weird controlling partner

Now.....if you'd asked for advice for sorting out the error .... fair enough

elb90 · 07/07/2023 15:26

@Ladybug14 erm no I asked on how I should tell him and what I should do, I never asked for advice on my living situation or how the baby is going to break things etc, I made a mistake and was panicking on how to tell him as I've ruined the kitchen side! I would be worried to tell anybody, now people like you are jumping on saying how they are worried about my partner as controlling? For all I know he could just say oh that's ok! Don't worry! Like I said it's a me problem in how I worry - I make myself worried with sick about things! But has nothing to do with him, I am just upset with myself that I've ruined something of someone else's!

God I think people must come on here looking for an argument as got nothing better to do!

Thanks to the people are your nice comments and advice and reassurance. Those people are who I came on to speak to, but instead I get key board warriors!

How did it go OP?

I had another thought. If the heat pad thing is too big/obvious, what about a spoon rest next to the cooker. Might be more discreet to cover it.
