Yes, agree and it’s also just plain bonkers. The stuff they say is bile mixed with crazy conspiracies.

But, there’s other threads that are great. Intelligent, informed, witty in a way that I miss from days gone by here. Also, although I’m no longer an active tattle member, in the past I’ve certainly been on threads where positive things have been said about people. I’ve said them. And they definitely haven’t been deleted. Not to say that hasn’t happened elsewhere, just my experience.

Yes I agree. I hadn't realised how completely bat shit some people are . I am not keen on them at all, but did think if this is what some people are saying about them, I do actually feel some sympathy. Just sheer vitriolic hatred and nastiness.

IME stuff gets deleted if the mods decide it's trying to police what other people are saying. So if you said: "I think X influencer is actually quite misunderstood, I like her", that wouldn't be deleted (though you might get piled on by other posters!). But if you said "I think X influencer is actually quite misunderstood, I like her and I think you're all being really horrible about her and shouldn't say X", that would get deleted.

The issue I have with Tattle is that they're totally obsessed with women's looks and weight, almost to the exclusion of anything else. There are threads about women who objectively have done not great things, and 50% of the comments are just slagging them off for being "fat", and coming up with inventive nicknames all based on calling them fat and saying that their boobs are either too flat or too floppy. They also seem to have the expectation that women have immaculate hair and makeup at all times, when I hardly think the average Tattle reader does!

I swear you could be a female serial killer, and all the comments on your Tattle thread would be "Did you read that Hippo McFatty Fat applied for parole?"

It's shocking that women have such extreme vicious hate for other women's bodies. I can't understand what motivates women to spend hours every day screaming "FAT FAT FAT FAT!!!!" at random strange women. I could sort of understand it coming from men because that's rooted in misogyny and the incel movement, but I can't understand at all why women want to devote their lives to trashing other women's bodies. It's just deranged.

Also this is just a personal pet peeve, but one thing that drives me irrationally nuts is Tattle users going "OMG I can't believe that influencer/celeb posted about her new movie on the same social media account she uses to post personal photos, how incredibly unprofessional, I'd get fired in a heartbeat if I ever posted about work on social media, I hope the movie bosses find out that she's posting about work on social media and fire her!!!!!"

Like... literally the entire reason movie/TV studios cast influencers is because of their social media reach. Casting directors sometimes base casting choices even for huge Hollywood movies on who has the most social media followers. Celebs and actors are expected to have social media and often spend a fortune on social media managers, and anyone who knows the tiniest thing about social media for celebs knows that you have to balance "personal" content with work content. That's literally people's entire job, to plan that balance. Movie and TV contracts literally say you are legally obligated to do promo and contracts sometimes flat out say that you have legally have to make x number of social media posts.

It's so weird, people working as insurance clerks going "OMG I'd get fired for posting about work!" Yeah duhhh you're not a celebrity? Do these people not have the slightest idea what movie promo means?

My account was suspended for attempting to ‘moderate’ in a particularly sensitive thread where a person was about to pass away and many were being vile about him. They thought he was faking his impending death.
I suggested we cease and just wait.

He did pass away shortly after I was kicked out.
