I just wanted to say how wonderful my dh is. I know that I sometimes moan about him, but today I have been feeling crap due to my continuing cold, I had to take DS to a birthday party, and when I came back DH had tidied up, cleared the table, set it with candles and bought me some flowers and a soppy card, and prepared me a lovely meal. Ds is a nanny's tonight so we can have a lovely evening.
He did all this suffering from a nasty cold/sore throat himself. I did let him sleep till 11 because he had a bad night, so I am rewarded.

Taking JanH's advice. With regard to the Court appearence what to expect thread, My cheque from the garage has cleared. Thinking about it, I am proud of the fact that I was not going to let them get away with selling me a naff car, it took 9 long months fighting it, but now have some money for me to go out now and buy a new motor.

bouncy · 09/05/2003 11:37

Wow, Just read the thread, that is wonderful news, glad this was one that they didn't get away with.

jac34 · 09/05/2003 17:33

Very proud of my DH today.
We have been getting the run around from the admissions department of our local council, about places for my twin DS's. Still had not heard whether they had a place at our choice of school,(which is yards from our house). They claimed to have no record of our DS's at all, even though we regestered well before time.
Today, DH told them that, unless we had heard of places by the end of the day, he would chain himself and the children to the railings of the school and phone the local paper !!
Within a few minutes they rung back guarantee us places !!!!
Oh, he can be so masterful at times !!!

Tortington · 10/05/2003 12:11

well done that man! fan bloody tastic - nice when you can shove one to the beaurocrats!!!!!!

if any one wants to ever chain my kids up somewhere just let me know, when i do it someone always call social services for some reason ..tut!

custy ... you do make me laugh ...

breeze · 15/05/2003 09:23

For the past 10 minutes have tried to go upstairs, but Ds aged 3.5 kept saying "don't come in my room mummy", so I humoured him for a bit then started to worry about what he had been up to. Finally he said you can come in now mummy, I did, he said "na nah" and he had tidied his room with out me asking, he then said to be "bet your so proud of me arn't you mummy".

Now hope it rubs off round the house, so I can spend even more time on mumsnet

Mum2Toby · 15/05/2003 09:29

Yeah Breeze - lock him in the Kitchen and tell him you would be RRRRREALLY proud if he cleaned the floor!

Demented · 15/05/2003 20:36

Awww that's lovely Breeze. Long may it continue!

lou33 · 15/05/2003 21:59

What a lovely boy to do that Breeze.

breeze · 16/05/2003 08:32

mmm Don't know what has appened to him (not complaining though) he just follows me around saying things like "Shoes on the shoe rack mummy", but he is being really helpful, and amazed that it isn't followed by "Can I have....." yes long may it continue

Ghosty · 24/05/2003 00:18

I am really proud of my DS today ...
He had a bit of a nasty accident yesterday ... went flying over the front of his little ride on car and whacked his chin on the pavement ... gaping hole in his chin, blood everywhere ... you get the picture ...
Anyway ... took him straight down to our doctors (a medical centre rather than just a surgery) ... he screamed all the way and I thought that there would be no chance they would be able to get near him to clean it let alone stitch it or steri strip it ...
Once we got there though he was an angel ... really good ... the nurses thought he was the cutest thing ever (isn't that just a lovely feeling when someone says that about your baby?) ... he chatted away and told them all about how "I did fall off my car and I flew high in the sky and came down plonk on the ground" ... he even warned her when he was going to do a "big fart" ....
He was sooooooo brave ... and now has a big bandage on his chin ...
Anyway ... just wanted to share ... feeling soppy today

Ghosty what a brave boy. He sounds a cutie. No harm in feeling soppy about our little darlings is there?! Helps us get through the 'little monster' days.

Melly · 24/05/2003 21:51

That's really sweet Ghosty, bless him.
