sorry, the guardian. because i was brought up with it, can't imagine reading anything else, & generally agree with its standpoint. and yes, i probably do live up to the guardianista stereotype....

During the week if I'm busy I read whichever catches my eye in the shop Weekends The Independent and The Observer as I have time to read all the bits at my leisure

I grew up with the Daily Mail, so naturally read the Guardian now on the rare times I buy a paper. Don't really like any of them though, to be honest.

Guardian but only on Wed and occasional Sats.
Sometimes get the Observer on Sun.
Habit is my chief reason. But I like the typeface and generally agree with its politics. Has a lot of disappearing up arse navel gazing as well but I skip those bits.

The Guardian on weekends and sometimes Observor on Sundays. DH read it at University and I took it up too as it broadly reflects my political and social outlook.

get the times every day. love the saturday and sunday times though and can't imagine life without them. the sunday times is just fab. did try the guardian for a spell but preferred the times. i think you get used to the writers and lay out and are comfortable with that.

Times, but only on the weekend, as that is the only time that I can get around to reading it. It was a habit I got into in a shared student house and I am just used to it, I suppose. Came from a Mirror reading family

Hi Socci. I read the Telegraph these days. Absolutely nothing to do with politics because I just don't get politics at all. I just like the layout and I love having a go at the cryptic cross word which after about 5-6 years I can now manage about half of it, more on a Saturday. But on a Sunday we get the Times. I like the supplements.

Independent - have done from its first day. Like it because it does try to be independent, was one of the few papers outspokenly against Iraq war, it needs all the readers it can get (or did, fastest growing circulation now, I think) after evil Murdoch tried to get rid of it by reducing price of Times to 10p. But most of all, read it because it came out on my birthday

Guardian and FT on Saturdays
Sometimes buy Evening Standard in the week
have been known to buy the express for the word games

Express, Telegraph, Sale & Altrincham Messenger, Westmorland Gazette cos they've all got something interesting or useful in them. Love the Telegraph crossword and the Skeleton in the Express on Sunday!

the Independent - have done faithfully since I first got my vouchers for it during freshers' week. I love how independent it really is, they intelligently (mostly!) present so many different points of view.

We used to get the Sunday Mirror but stopped a few years ago as we didn't know most of the people they were talking about.

the guardian. used to read the mail, then xpress when i commuted, not for political viewpoint but as can't face a b/sheet on the train. but gave up due to both papers' rabid xenophobia and anti-asylum rantings, and their features on sa-called 'real' women's lives where their biggest problem during the day was how to spend their dh's massive salary! the guardian comes closest to my way of thinking now but i wish I could just get one paper instead of a paper and 2 'sections'

glad someone else has admitted to loving the tabloids - if I buy in the week or on a saturday it's the Sun, on a Sunday sometimes get News of the World. I know they're full of crap but I like something light heartedness and as we've got sky can check the BBC's News 24 for proper news any time

We don't buy a paper because DH does not have enough time to read it and I am mumsnetting so I don't either.

As we live way out of the town centre we don't even get the local free paper down here.

Each time we go home to Sussex get local paper.

My parents get several guardian & telegraph and observer and telegraph on weekends

They are not political people so the political parts of the papers slants are not important IYSWIM
