She died 12 days after giving birth to a son. I can't believe she was beheaded when she had given the King what he wanted but something clearly wasn't right.

Christina, Duchess of Milan, was a Danish princess. Henry kept her picture after she turned him down (it was in the Holbein exhibition in the Tate a while back).

Is there an echo in here?

Sorry had not read thread - obviously - still reelling from the thread about Pierce Brosnan's wife. Everyone's talking about how fat she is - which she is - and no-one's noticed that James Bond has a paunch. How ridiculous is that?

WendyWeber · 20/01/2008 22:28

(Quattro, I don't know how to tell you this but he's not James Bond - he's just an ordinary bloke in his mid-50s!)(and most of those have a paunch much worse than his )

'Historical fiction'.

sigh.

And I thought chick lit was bad.

Quattrocento · 20/01/2008 22:31

Lala I can't hear you, there is a James Bond

expatinscotland · 20/01/2008 22:32

Cleves was cleverer than folks give her credit for.

She was just entirely ignorant about sex and had no idea that he hadn't actually consummated their marriage until her English ladies set her straight.

Then she used this as a very good bargaining tool to gain herself a comfortable, independent life instead of being sent back to her despot of a brother.

This is James Bond, darling - see? No paunch!
