How's about an experiment in the power of group positive thinking? (We got Peter a heart didn't we, so this is minor!)

DH has phoned to say there is a house being advertised for rent where he works (the advert is where he works... we're not moving into the hospital )

It is £60 a month less than we are paying, and an extra two bedrooms and ORP. Not far from where we are now

We have just had a letter about renewing our tenancy, so the timing is perfect.

Sooooooooooooooooooo - I need you lot to believe that:

a) It is still available
b) It is a long term let and not just 6 months before they plan to sell it
c) They accept housing benefit/I can work out a way to survive without the benefit.

I'm going with an "If you build it, he will come" kind of thing - the power of all of you believing will make it real!

Now, hold hands, breathe in and believe

BTW I already think your house move is a done deal, I walked past a flat once, it was ground floor, quite big, near my family and friends and was in it within a few weeks.

Perhaps you should focus on getting £1000 together for the move?

FlameNFurter · 15/01/2008 14:14

As long as it isn't so high that YOU don't believe in it, then there is no limit from what I can tell.

The funny thing is - this is very much what pagans and modern witches have been saying for years, just because it comes under the title of magick it is less accepted.

Ohm, ohm, ohm. Meditating for you.

I believe!

FlameNFurter · 16/01/2008 18:55

It was huge, but had no bath and no way of fitting one... it had lots of downsides that would be fixable (the guy would have happily let us decorate etc), but the bath and gut feeling is a no.

Feeling like I have lost something that I never had in the first place.

Psycho giving me wine

Thanks for believing though - all of the points were covered Just forgot to believe that the house itself was right!!!

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 16/01/2008 19:26

Gutted! Just as I was starting to fall for the positive thinking being the root to happiness!

LoveMyGirls · 16/01/2008 19:27

You know what this means flame? it means the next one will be perfect and you will be so glad you didnt move into one that wasn't quite right!

Now we must all believe you will fine another one that is totally perfect!

Believe believe...........

sherby · 16/01/2008 19:29

Flame we don't have a bath and nearly didn't rent our house because of it.

But we got used to it really quickly, DD loves having showers now and although I miss it sometimes its not really a huge thing.

What did he say about the Housing B.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/01/2008 19:31

I believe in fate and the right house is on it's way...it wil come, don't fret...

FlameNFurter · 16/01/2008 20:19

Given that he only wanted two week's deposit and the state of the house, we didn't bother asking about housing B because we couldn't see it being a problem

Two small children and pondering another in the future, the bath is needed tbh.

It didn't feel quite right in there either.

But yeah - believe for a perfect one in about 6 months please

Are you sure you couldn't even fit of these in? (The Duo is the one in our ensuite.)

I guess these problems explain the bargain price though - there are very few genuine bargains in life.

FlameNFurter · 16/01/2008 21:00

Bathroom was only a bit wider than where your freezer is, and already had a built in shower in it

Yup, bargain price explained by that, and the landlord being a very creepy looking man (seemed nice enough, but I wouldn't have fancied looking round alone with him )

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2008 21:12

Yes but you'd put the bath with the shower over it. Would fit no problem in my utility (even before it was extended).

DontDreamItBeIt · 16/01/2008 21:55

Our new bath is a shower bath and 150 cm long. You can get smaller.

But if you're still no conviced I will start chanting for a nice new house.

FlameNFurter · 16/01/2008 22:00

The shower was new, he wouldn't have taken it out (was very proud of it, could tell, he told us 4 times )

I KNEW there was a proper word for where your freezer is

Tis a shame, he would have made a very conscientious landlord
