Have wanted to take Lottie horseriding for ages. As she's 3 in a month and still not walking or even standing, i thought it would be a really nice thing for her, and me, to do together. It's something she can do, other than being taken swimming, that she can (hopefully) really enjoy and get into.

Anyway, every stables I've spoken to has said she has to be 5.
Just spoken to one 12 minutes away from my house and they said that as it's special circumstances (Lottie has Down's syndrome) they will allow me to come down, they've picked out a special little pony, we can borrow her son's gear, they have a back support and she'll walk on one side and I'll walk on the other and I can go down on Friday.

I'm so happy. This woman has put herself out and made allowances and is basically gping out of her way to help us

Lottie might hate it but at least we get to try it.

At the moment she bum shuffles up and down the hall, holding onto pretend reins making 'clip clip' noises, pretending to ride a horse So hopefully she'll love it, I really hope so.

I hope she loves it too. Sounds like the welcome is going to be warm too. Have fun, Lottie!

JanH · 23/11/2004 13:50

Oh I hope she loves it too, TC! Can you take pictures and post them for us?

SantaFio2 · 23/11/2004 13:52

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 13:52

oh Thomcat, as someone who spent every possible moment of her childhood (and a lot of her adulthood come to that) at the stables I really really hope she enjoys it. I'm sure she will.
And good on the owner for putting herslef out for you guys. Have fun and tell us all about it wont you?

woodpops · 23/11/2004 13:54

Wow, I'm sure she'll love it. It would be great if you could post pictures. You'll have to get someone to go with you and video it.

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 13:56

Have already roped my mum in on camera duty. God I hope she loves it half as much as I want her to, it'll be great to have found an activity she can be part of.

Ahhhhh TC, that is great. What a lovely woman to do that for you. I hope Lottie has a ball

JanH · 23/11/2004 14:01

It's ideal for her (and she will probably want to bring the pony home!) Oh I'm really excited for you both! I'm so glad you have found this place!

Re the photos, you could set up a photobucket or photobox album, you can copy across from things you've scanned as well as downloading from a digital camera.

photobucket (atm you can only register for a free account between 6 and 8 UK time, am or pm)

photobox

(Or you could send us all emails!)

lou33 · 23/11/2004 14:07

get in touch with your local riding for the disabled as well tc, they take them from aged 3 if they have spaces.

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:33

Jan, I've just registered with photobucket and added loads of pics already, kot sure how you'll view them though!

OP posts:
Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:33

Oh no it was photo box actually.

OP posts:
JanH · 23/11/2004 14:36

it will have been box I think. You have to give us the URL and your login details - email address or login name plus password. (I think!)

JanH · 23/11/2004 14:38

TC, I have a couple of pics in a temporary album on photobox so I'll try mine - this may be it!

Pls let me know if it works and if not what info you need to put in. password is caretaker, that may be enough.

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:41

Jan, does this work?
My password is thomcat

OP posts:
JanH · 23/11/2004 14:44

noooo - I need your email address and your password apparently! When I clicked on your link I got my album, and when I logged out and tried your link again they asked for email and password. Has the same happened to you with mine?

It should be possible view someone's shared album without knowing their email address, I wonder if there's an extra step?

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:46

It works when I click on it, It's a temporary file, can't create an album for some reason. Click it again and do view a slideshow.

OP posts:
Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:48

I can't do yours either btw

OP posts:
JanH · 23/11/2004 14:53

have just been fiddling about (wish I knew what I was doing!) and a page came up where you can make it a shared album or a public album but you have to send invites by email - I think - oh, hang on a sec

does this work?

It did for me but then I'm logged in!

Hulababy · 23/11/2004 14:53

I really hope she likes it; it sounds fab. And good on that women giving you the chance to try it out. Have a great time

Thomcat · 23/11/2004 14:57

Thanks hulababy.

Jan that worked, pic with hubby and a gaggle of kids! Lovely, lovley, lovely, wish i could see them all a bit clearer though, can I havce more please mum!!!
How did you do that?

OP posts:
JanH · 23/11/2004 14:59

I'm not quite sure, TC!

Hang on, I will go back through pages on browser and see if that shows me where it came from...

You can see the pic better if you click on it, you get a really big one

JanH · 23/11/2004 15:03

OK, first I named a new album (not just temporary) - I'm not sure how I put the photos from the temp one into the named one, but after that when I clicked on My Albums the title came up with boxes next to it, and one of them is "This is a public album" - once you click on that it gives you a new URL and that's what I used for that link that works.

HTH!!!

SantaFio2 · 23/11/2004 15:05

love the photo jan

JanH · 23/11/2004 15:07

And after you click on "This is a public album" you get "choose how this album is shared" - choice is private, shared or public - I clicked on shared and it then said "This album is shared.
Click next to invite people and give them access to this album." - I clicked next and it came up with "This album is shared at www.photobox.co.uk/album/1044834".

Still not sure how I got the pics out of temp into album though!
