Get a bath sponge and lay him on it or use a bath towel folded up to it is softer and warmer than a bath bottom.

TheGoatofBitterness · 04/01/2008 19:36

get in with him

I struggle to hold DS3 in the bath too - combination of me being a short ar*e and him being a hefty lad .

Thankfully he's just about sitting up now so getting easier.

Shallow bath, lay him down flat, let him kick around with 'gay abandon' (to borrow my personal favourite phrase from dear old MIL)

cod - sometimes it's easier said than done holding a baby in the bath. Just because "you" can do it nice and easily doesn't mean that everyone else can. And for some of us shallow baths and getting in with them aren't an option as we're bathing other children with them too.

armyofme · 04/01/2008 19:40

i also found it hard to bath my dd in the big bath without any support before she could sit, as she wriggles like mad and i always thought she was going to slip under - could you not take the bath seat back and swap it for one that doesn't compromise ds' parts? i've seen quite a few different models...

Maybe a tummytub is a solution if you cant get in the bath with him?

We never used any bath gadgets, just got in with them. Dp in bath with kids and me ready with a towel

foofi · 04/01/2008 19:42

I used to get in with them - much easier than leaning over the side.

bumbly · 04/01/2008 19:42

my little one is ver big and strong for every one else wanting to contribute to discussion

glad others are having difficulty too

Er... think you are worrying about it a bit too much.

He will move his head out of the water if he doesn't like it!
