Yeah We got the house - and at asking price!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were no other bidders. I have felt so sick and stressed all day. I can stop frantiically doing housework and cooking now, and start eating again.

OMG, feel all funny now and not sure what to do with myself

BRILLIANT!! SO glad for you Hulababy!!

This is it

And these are our plans:

We would use the front sitting room as a dining room, and the back extended room as a large family room. I'd also re-paint this white or some form of cream/beige.

The kitchen isn't fitted so we need to get new kitchen stuff, even cooker. Been to price some up though this afternoon and that isn't a problem.

Bathroom we would replace and retile, but not immediaitely. More of a spring/summer project. It isn't large but better use of the space would be easy to do. Can't remember flooring, but we'd do that too.

Back big room would be Mollie's. We'd sand and paint those huge wardrobes - and repaint everywhere pink and princess like Flooring needs changing, as I didn't like the blue carpet for Mollie.

Front bedroom for us was fine as it is for now. Would repaint lighter colour (beige or similar) later next year.

Tiny room would, hopefully, become a nursery sometime in the future and we'd re decorate it then.

Hall carpet and decor was fine

Garden was nice size and decking lovely. Bakck half needs digging over, membrane down and bark covering it. Just a tidy round rest of it. Oh, and they are leaving a bug shed type structure which their girl's use as a play house, which we'd transform for Mollie.

Even has a garage

And catchment primary school is an excellent beacon school.

wodul avoid paintintg anything pink as Ime all girls go off barbie at the age o f 4 and into lilac and goovy chick

codswallop · 19/11/2004 15:46

the kitchen looks fitted

TurnAgainCat · 19/11/2004 15:47

Hulababy, Congratulations! Really sympathise as my flat's been for sale since June. Don't want to be miserable, but we do get nutters on here from time to time - do you really want that link to stay up showing all the world your new home address?

Hulababy · 19/11/2004 15:51

coddy - although the units are fitted, sadly the appliances aren't fitted, not even the cooker. But that isn' a problem - we have already priced up some lovely ones

Have to think about Mollie's room now - she wants it to be a princess room. Even if I have to repaint it in a couple of years, I think we will let her. Might go for white walls though and use pink on the bits and pieces. She needs a new carpet too as it is a blue one.

Gobbledigook · 19/11/2004 16:01

Looks lovely Hulababy! Remember looking at this on the old thread when we all couldn't sell (well, we still haven't ) so really glad you got that house anyway!

Freckle · 19/11/2004 16:02

Congratulations! It looks lovely. Current owners are certainly into bright and beautiful, aren't they? Have fun planning and buying.

Hulababy · 19/11/2004 16:05

Current owners don't have a TV??? Just piano and a keyboard. Bet broadband isn't set up in there yet - that'll be first on the list I can tell you

Go for pink. My dds 8 and 5 are still into pink and Barbie.

Clayhead · 19/11/2004 16:17

Congratulations.

I bought my wedding dress at a shop near Nonna's, in the Eccleshall Road/Hunters Bar area, so that area has lovely memories for me.

LIZS · 19/11/2004 16:18

Congratulations . We've lived with white walls for 3 years now and have to say I've got to quite like it. not sure I 'd rally go big on colour when we decorate again. dd's room has a whitewashed pine bed, laminate floor and would love some floaty pink and lilac voile curtains and bed canopy to off set it.

Cadbury · 19/11/2004 16:20

That's great Hulababy! Glad it all worked out for you. Hope the rest of the process goes smoothly.

Hulababy · 19/11/2004 16:36

Only room we will have colour eventually will be DD's room. We have white everywhere in the apartment and I like it - always seems so light. Dining room is being painted before we move in!

Not been to Nonna's for a while Clayhead. Prior to having DD we used to go there on a weekend lunchtime for antipasta bar and wine. Bit too smoky in there for DD now, unless you go for a proper meal in the back room - can be a bit overpriced though.

Cor that's brought back memories - I used to hang out around Hunters bar and the Ecclesall Road in my Sheffield Poly days.......many years ago!!!
