snowing in North Wales, just had a spooky drive home with no grit and car saying -1 while DS was trying to say 'snowman'. I feel this justifies a G&T??

katzguk · 18/11/2004 18:29

Katzguk - you are really lucky, I love the snow and can't wait to get the kids wellies out!!

We don't really get that much here, even when it snows it rarely settles enough to be worth trying a snowman!!

On t'other side o'Pennines to you!

Remember when at uni in Leeds we had fab snowy winters though!

colditzmum · 18/11/2004 18:34

Easy · 18/11/2004 18:52

It's snowing pretty heavily here in Nottingham too.

I love snow to look at, but hate the idea of slippery underfoot. Terrified that if I slip I'll break my hip again, then back to square one.

ds very excited about the snow tho'.

fio2 · 18/11/2004 18:54

its just fine rain here

Hulababy · 18/11/2004 19:01

We're in Sheffield too and is indeed snowing - quote heavy too. IT was just starting in Doncaster too when I left work. My normal journey home takes about 45 minutes, but it was hour and half today.

Poor DD had to come home in the snow and cold with DH tonight (minus her gloves) - she wasn't impressed, poor thing.

fisil · 18/11/2004 19:03

yes it does, Carla, winter of 1995/6. Had a wonderful day chucking snowballs - tried to get to work out near Banbury and had to turn back. So went into town and just enjoyed. Best snow day of my adult life!

SecondhandRose · 18/11/2004 19:23

Well it's pouring with rain in Hertfordshire with some fog too. Driving a nightmare.

Slinky · 18/11/2004 19:26

We've had 12 hours non-stop rain today - still raining heavily now.

mykidsmum · 18/11/2004 19:26

Snowing in Northampton, furthest south so far...its heading your way !!

jude2105 · 18/11/2004 19:29

Still going strong here in Solihull - it's soooo pretty! Not enough for a snowman tho!

jampot · 18/11/2004 19:30

has been snowing here for about 45 mins after heavy rain all day -

Goldfish · 18/11/2004 19:40

Its just heavy rain ATM in Norfolk. I'm jealous now. I hope it reaches us.

libb · 18/11/2004 19:42

sleet here - DP took the mickey out me showing DS the "snow"

fostermum · 18/11/2004 19:44

you lucky things

Easy · 18/11/2004 19:49

Well the met office did it again.

We now have a considerable covering of snow, and it's coming out of the skies like it'll never stop.
Checked the met office site, says rain, heavy at times.

They say the skies will clear in the early hours, meaning it'll freeze like bggry by morning. so those of us north of watford gap look like snowballing on our way to school in the morning.

Must get dh prepared, he'll be doing the school run now.

katzguk · 18/11/2004 20:00

well over three inches now here, i love living atthe top of a hill!!

DH had to help someone whos car got stuck, it feels like winter and very christmassy getting excited already

Dh has looked into train times for tomorrow car aint going anywhere!!! unless its better in the middle and he could scrounge a lift - hint hint hula!!

Snowing in Cambridge now. And it's pitching.

And DH is still at work half an hour's drive from home...

PicadillyCircus · 18/11/2004 20:10

It's raininh here . It has been raining all day. Am not impressed with this weather.

It had also better not be bad driving conditions on Saturday between Liverpool and Hertfordshire as my mum, dad and sister are coming here for DS's 1st Birthday party. Also between Oxford and here.

But please let it stop raining
