he's six days old and they really can't decide what to call him. i said i'd call back later today with results from the MN jury.

Ben
Isaac
Sam
Max
Evan
Sean

There's a bit of a Welsh connection...
let's say the surname is Chapters (it's not, but that's closeish)

Evan

johnnydeppsmistress · 11/11/2004 19:54
  1. London
2. Ice 3. Beefy

None of these I would choose but heard them all on several recent trips into town and had to stop myself from giggling.

misdee · 11/11/2004 19:56

isaac or evan.

Tinker · 11/11/2004 20:25

Sam, Isaac or Ben - don't like the others.

Wonder if nasa knows one of the Evans I know - lives nearby.

NQWWW · 11/11/2004 20:36

Far too many Sams and Bens around. There are 3 3yo Sams in my street alone.

I suppose I'd choose Evan if I had to pick from that list.

bonym · 11/11/2004 21:27

I'd choose Sam (would have been dd's name if she'd been a boy) - it is quite popular now though so if they want something more unusual I'd go with Evan

JPM · 11/11/2004 21:44

Isaac

monkeymagic · 11/11/2004 21:46

I vote for Isaac - but then it's my ds name and he's a real peach. Sometimes we call him Isy (eyesie) or Baby I for ahort but not Zac yet.

monkeymagic · 11/11/2004 21:47

for short I mean

Thomcat · 11/11/2004 21:50

Ben or Sam are my favourites and were on my boys name list. I find Sean tricky as I know so many of them, as in men called Sean inc one very letchy irritating client, so although i like the name i couldn 't call my son sean.

They're all nive though.

How about Benjamin samuel Chapters
or
Samuel Benjamin chapters?!

prefernot · 11/11/2004 21:50
  1. Isaac
2. Sam 3. Evan

NOT Max or Ben

How about choosing a name that's currently out of fashion and starting a new trend? I remember the horrified looks my dh's cousin got when she named her sons Jack and Harry back in the mid-70s, when everyone else was keen on such names as Jason, Darren, Kevin and Dean, yet Jack & Harry are among the most popular names now. I've had a similar experience with my own children's names too. Out-of-vogue but rather nice names that spring to mind are: Eric, Denis, Gerald, Alan, Arthur, Roland, Frank & Amos.

yingers74 · 11/11/2004 22:12

ben or Sean, i think they sound nice with the surname

WestCountryLass · 11/11/2004 23:03

Ben - Where I live every boy child born this year has been called either Ben or Thomas.
Isaac - Not sure about the 'c' ending and begiing or first/surname.
Sam - I like Sam!
Max - NMS.
Evan - NMS.
Sean - NMS

What about a ncie solid Welsh name like Ioan?

Frizbe · 11/11/2004 23:06

or emyr?

hester · 12/11/2004 08:55

Isaac, Ben, Sam, in that order

spacemonkey · 12/11/2004 08:56

I love the name Eric. And Alan.

collision · 12/11/2004 09:16

DS is Max which is a person's name and NOT a dog's name, thank you.

Ben or Sam would be my choice.

spacemonkey · 12/11/2004 09:17
