he's six days old and they really can't decide what to call him. i said i'd call back later today with results from the MN jury.

Ben
Isaac
Sam
Max
Evan
Sean

There's a bit of a Welsh connection...
let's say the surname is Chapters (it's not, but that's closeish)

Max Chapters sounds a bit like an American thriller writer (although I do like the name Max). I vote for Sam ? which sounds great (to me, at least) whether he turns out to be a hunky rugby player or a bespectacled bookish type.

SoupDragon · 11/11/2004 12:36

Evan

JuniperDewdrop · 11/11/2004 12:36

I like Evan as it rhymes with DS2s name

KangaMummy · 11/11/2004 12:37

I really like Ben

emmatmg · 11/11/2004 12:40

My choices are-

1)Isaac
2)Evan
3)Sam/Ben
4)Max
5)Sean

muddaofsuburbia · 11/11/2004 12:43

I like Isaac because he can shorten it to Zac if he wants it when he's older.

Gobbledigook · 11/11/2004 12:44

Would have picked Max except Secur is right - it sounds like make-up!

I go for:

1)Sean
2)Sam

Ben is nice but I know hundreds of them! Mind you, I've got a Thomas and there are even more of those so just ignore me!

Maudy · 11/11/2004 12:44

I like Sam. Always thought it was quite a cuddly name.

Miriam2 · 11/11/2004 12:44

Evan

crunchie · 11/11/2004 12:50

Personally I would be old fashioned and go for the full length version of these names, so my choice would be

Benjamin
Samual
Isaac

The other 3 I don't much like.

throckenholt · 11/11/2004 12:52

I would go for Ben or Sean out of those.

Evan or Isaac

nailpolish · 11/11/2004 12:53

i like max but agree with previous posters. sean is 2nd choice

NomDePlume · 11/11/2004 12:55

Evan or Max for me.

zubb · 11/11/2004 13:00

Evan or Issac if the others are the shortened forms. I think I prefer the sound of two syllables

Demented · 11/11/2004 13:07

I'm with Crunchie, prefer the full versions, would probably pick Samuel as no1, followed by Issac, followed by Benjamin.

breeze · 11/11/2004 13:14

Sam or Ben (both names we considered for DS)

tabitha · 11/11/2004 13:17

Evan, Ben or Issac, probably in that order

SweetFudge · 11/11/2004 13:17

Max or Issac or Ben. Don't know any real Max(s) or Issac(s) but all the Ben(s) I know are great guys and good looking.(yes, very shallow)

marialuisa · 11/11/2004 13:22

I think Sam or Ben, prefer Sam. Max and Isaac are a bit too "of the moment" for me.

I'm afraid i'm not keen on the others and as a Welsh speaker I wouldn't count Evan as a Welsh boys' name.

skiingmummy · 11/11/2004 13:36

Like Evan and Isaac.

Pidge · 11/11/2004 13:37

If there's a Welsh connection they're certainly not going for very Welsh names!!

I rather like Isaac, and love the shortened Zak.

(Also like Max, but far too popular at the moment!)

janeybops · 11/11/2004 13:38

Like Sam but prefer Samual. Not really that keen on the others
