DH has a Wii.

DD is nearly 3 and has had one go at a little kids game. She is not yet coordinated enough to do it properly but probably will be in 6 months time.
DS is nearly 5 and plays from time to time, couple of times a month. Loves it.

It IS a good family computer game but agree with what many other people are saying: Buy it for yourselves not for your DD.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/12/2007 13:15

I don't even know what Wii is
How do you pronouce it - "why" or "wee"?

Blu · 03/12/2007 13:17

I'm not anti computer games per se.

DS is 6.5 and has none.

But he will be immobilised for a few months next year and we are saving any pleas for computer games until then, when we will all appreciate them. But he isn't asking, anyway.

belgo · 03/12/2007 13:17

here is dd1's Christmas present this year, she is three and 8 months. I'm hoping it will make her face light up when she opens it.

belgo · 03/12/2007 13:18

Mrsshadenfraude - exactly I'm not even sure what it is myself, but I do know they cost a lot of money, and the people seem I know who have one say that they are quite good fun

I think that will do the trick, Belgo!

DS is desparate for the 'ElectroMag' set...and as if by magic, that's what he will get!

StarofBethleCam · 03/12/2007 13:20

Yep that#ll do it belgo

Blu · 03/12/2007 13:21

Fio - DS wants Electro-Mag, and Hot Wheels Criss Cross crash - if that's any help! (and a flower press and a geological hammer and a riding outfit for his BabyBorn....probably less held )

StarofBethleCam · 03/12/2007 13:21

Someone's ds wanted something for Christmas on here one year, like an orange or a piece of string

Blu · 03/12/2007 13:21

les 'help' I mean

Blu · 03/12/2007 13:22

Didn't twiglett's dd want 'a brown present' - and her ds a 'toy graveyard'?

belgo · 03/12/2007 13:27

dd1 also hasn't cottoned onto Christmas yet. She certainly hasn't asked for anything in particular. But I'm sure she'll enjoy the lego, in fact, I'll probably enjoy it as well

Enid · 03/12/2007 14:23

(Blu get the flower press that goes in the microwave if you have one it is fab - and quick)

a pink laptop sounds ok. and 20 pounds sounds resonable as well for something educational.

lol - we've got an old mouse and old keyboard that my kids bash away on, copying mummy on mumsnet

Othersideofthechannel · 03/12/2007 18:52

I don't think the OP said she was getting a Wii for her DD's Christmas present.
Seems to me she just wanted to know whether or not 3.5 is an age at which a child will enjoy this activity with the parents.

belgo · 03/12/2007 18:54

title:

'Nintendo wii for my 3 years and a half'

sounds like it's for her dd to me

wheresthehamster · 03/12/2007 18:57

Op, can you tell me where they are so I can get one as well? The south east hasn't got any at the moment

myrrhthamoo · 03/12/2007 19:04

Flower press which goes in the microwave ? What is this thing? Ds2 drove me mad this summer asking three times a day if it was time to open the flower press yet.
