ja9 · 26/11/2007 20:04

£2.50

paulaplumpbottom · 26/11/2007 20:04

2 pounds

pukkapatch · 26/11/2007 20:04

i wouldnt go to poncy baker. i'd make it myself. but i do love my bread. and it is simply sooooo much tastier made by myself or my breadmaker than by any old poncy baker.

SenoraPostrophe · 26/11/2007 20:05

do you mean how much would I pay, or how much it could be before I would have to exclaim aloud in the shop?

colditz · 26/11/2007 20:05

Ummm, poncy, you say?

£2.50. But seeds had better be heavily involved, and I expect them to be organic ones.

SenoraPostrophe · 26/11/2007 20:06

but I suppose I'd pay £2 if it was super scrummy.

Twiglett · 26/11/2007 20:08

OK we're getting a poncey bakers opening next to our poncey fish shop

they currently are running a stall

I know that they were selling a loaf for £4.50 (which was totally shocking)

but have just been told another figure .. so use £4.50 as your starting point and think again

pukkapatch · 26/11/2007 20:08

nope, i couold make it much better for much less than that sp.
in fact whilst i do buy bread for 1.10, its because that is what the 50/50 costs and dc insist on it for toast, sandwiches etc. MY bread they eat as soon as its out of theoven as a meal in itself.

beautifuldays · 26/11/2007 20:08

£2

I think really we're saying how much before you have to exclaim 'Gor blimey gov you 'avin a larf' in a loud voice and nudge the stranger next to you

MrsFlora · 26/11/2007 20:10

oh my god twiglet ... you shop in East Dulwich....!!!

EmsMum · 26/11/2007 20:10

Has it been kneaded between the thighs of virgins or something?

If so then ..hmm... £5.99

No, poncey places dont do that, round £6.00

colditz · 26/11/2007 20:11

At anything over £5 a loaf it had better b made of organic cocaine.

MerlinsBeard · 26/11/2007 20:14

£4.50???????? £4.50 >??????

I moaned about our usual warbys going up to £1.20 !!!

Oh go on then, I'll guess £7. Those famous French loaves that were all the rage in London a year or two ago were £10 - but they were BIG!

I like the sound of Colditz' baker...

colditz · 26/11/2007 20:29

I am in midlands too sueW - I bet it's the same market.

Twiglett · 26/11/2007 20:35

mate of DH's told him that it was

£8.something
