What do you all do on Sundays ??

As you all already know, I hate Sundays, I find them boring and dull and tiring.

The dc's may possibly be starting swimming on sunday mornings after xmas, but at the mo there is a waiting list and so I need ideas of what else we can do on a sunday.

Occasionally we visit my dad, but thats only roughly once a month at the mo.

We go to carboot sales (when it's warm). Then we come home and make a big roast or nice food for lunch. then we go to our SA church (about an hours drive from us). get back from church and watch TV.

In SA: go to church. make lunch. Go to craft stalls by the beach. Go and visit family. Watch TV at night.

Church in the morning, Sunday lunch in the afternoon. Laundry if we still need to catch up

BBBee · 25/11/2007 15:15

not much.

today we have watched the snowman, made a roman temple for ds homework, made and eaten lunch, am going to do cooking with dcs in a bit and I have been 'working' on the laptop.

I like a day like this every so often - has been very full on lately.

I work...

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 25/11/2007 15:17

I get up early and watch Match of the Day and do the ironing. Then DH & DD go swimming and I sit and read the paper and eat in peace.

Organise things for the following week, including preparing for what I'm doing with my Rainbows tomorrow night. Then I aim to lie on the settee and sleep for a couple of hours!

Do big roasty for about 6pm and the three of us sit down to eat and watch a film together. Fall asleep again at about 8pm.

Bliss!

Should of said that I don't drive and bus services are rubbish on sundays so it has to be local which unfortunatly most things aren't around here.

We aren't at all religous so church is out.

Today we have just lazed about, kids have played, i've done washing up, laundry, mn, facebook lol.

I'm now doing a roast and the kids are vacuuming their rooms

Yeah we could do with a family game. We have Uno extreme but ds doesn't get it and so we don't often all play it.

Can anyone reccomend a game for me, a 10 yr old, 8yr old and nearly 5yr old ?(that has no patience).

Peachy · 25/11/2007 15:23

We were very good and did lots of crafty things this morning

Dh is now making a new bookshelf for the family room, I am netting with The Shamen (blame bloody Cod....) blasting out from the PC

I have PTA notes to do up later, which is a change coz its at least 24 hours since I did the last lot....

3missyshohoho · 25/11/2007 15:23

Ooh have loadsa games in the cupbaords but can't remember any now.... Hold on

janeite · 25/11/2007 15:23

We like board games on a Sunday afternoon too or a DVD with hot chocolate and popcorn. I like to go on a walk on Sundays but it's getting harder to persuade the dds that they'd enjoy it! We sometimes do cooking - they like to make a fruit crumble, or shortbread etc - they like to help make bread and soup too, which we save for Monday's dinner.

Today though, they are messing around upstairs and I'm messing around on here! Dp has a hangover, which he is trying to vacuum-clean his way out of.

zippitippitoes · 25/11/2007 15:23

my sunday is am i go to the gym and swim..then i do some washing and fight for the washing machine with dd1 and then for the tumble drier and then i do some sort of overdue work usually and sometimes make raost dinner for kids and assorted hangers on of theirs

not much help of course

nutty i looked up the postcode and it's 45 mins by car from here so you will get a babysitter and i will fetch you over and you can stay over

lucykate · 25/11/2007 15:23

games, what about hullabaloo, pictionary, or that new one, rapidough?

twister?

janeite · 25/11/2007 15:24

I'd recommend Cranium - fun for all ages.

ivykaty44 · 25/11/2007 15:25

Go to the gym first thing - leave dc in bed (my eldest bs the younger on as she is much older)

Come home and get b/fast for us all. Then me and dd go to supermarket and then to the library or the park.

Come home and have snack lunch and at the moment my neighbours dd is in playing - they played at hers for an hour and now are playing here very happy when there are two.

I have made dinner for tonight and tommorow night and some real rice pudding with sultanas.

I am now sat on here christmas shopping on line - well getting ideas and scribbling them down to tot up so have spent same money on both dc.

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 25/11/2007 15:25

Nutcracker - how about playing cards?

zippitippitoes · 25/11/2007 15:26

baking cakes is a good one

do they have friends to play?

nutcracker · 25/11/2007 15:26

Ok Zippi, will definatly have to arrange for after xmas sometime

I somtimes think I'd like to go out for a walk with them, but thinking is as far as I get

Pictionary sounds good, will have a look at that when out on Tuesday.

Could do baking yeah, keep meaning to do an apple crumble.

They don't have friends over of a weekend no as thb alot of their friends have pr planned activities for weekends. Dd2's best friend spends most weekends away in Wales and Dd1's always seem to be going out.

this one?

Quite cheap and can be addictive and the little one can try and join in?

ivykaty44 · 25/11/2007 15:29

Joash · 25/11/2007 15:35

GS is at his stage school thingy (technical term [grin) on sunday mornings up to 12:45, so DH and I go either into Penzance or down to Cape Cornwall and sit on the cliffs looking out to sea (very sad I know, but extremely peaceful).
Once we pick the little 'un up, we take him out for lunch, then generally to the beach for a walk. Before coming home and doing either craft stuff (today we made Christmas cards) or watching a DVD. Then dinner and by the time he's bathed, it's his bedtime.

nutcracker · 25/11/2007 15:36

Thanks will take a look at those links now.

I think your day sounds lovely Joash
