And how long have you lived there? How often do you get itchy feet and feel like moving on?

I love my house. Although we are on a road that gets a fair bit of traffic at school rush hour time, we are tucked away at the bottom of a driveway, surrounded by trees, so which ever window I look out of I can see trees and birds. I have lovely neighbours as well who make up for the fact that DH's parents are absolutely rubbish at being grandparents.

Love my house
Love my garden
Love my view
Love my location

We've been here about 18 months. And are here for the long term. But I do have days when I don't love this country and the small-town attitude so I'm lucky our place is far enough away from anyone to be an escape from reality.

love the area, hate the house. Been here for 3 years, looking to move to a better house in the next 2 years if I can persuade DH...

I love the area where I live now. Been here nine years. We moved to a bigger house last year but wanted to stay in this area. We have great friends, great high street and supermarkets and everything is just so easy to get to. Schools are great too. Only thing is I wish my family were nearby.

Have been in this flat for two years. The flat is gorgeous, but right on the edge between a beautiful area and a less nice one. I always go in the nice direction, and my daughter's school is right in the centre of a beautiful area, and I wouldn't mind moving further that way - but I wouldn't find an apartment as beautiful as this one as they are all older that way. So - yes, I suppose I'm pretty happy here.

As for Paris - I have my ups and downs but I like it a lot at the moment, providing I can escape regularly (have had more than 10 holidays this year so far ).

I love our house although in the summer we had a slug problem and now we appear to be getting a damp problem. We are renting and have been since April, and so long as our landlady assists with the above issues, we'd love to stay here indefinitely.

Within 3 minutes walking time, you can be at either the seaside or the shopping centre, our ds's school is less than 10 mins away and the South Downs can be seen from our bedroom window! Perfect!

Dottydot - "still get a lump in my throat as the train into London goes past the hospital where ds1 was born and virtually past our house" - I get a lump in my throat when we pass places we used to live too... I'm never expecting it but it gets me every time

I have lived here for four years and I love it. I want to grow old here

MuffinMclay · 08/11/2007 21:44

Been here 18 months and am happy. We're planning to move to a much bigger house in the same area in a year or two from now, and hope that wil be our 'forever' home.
