Probably a bit of a boring one but I'm interested to know what everyone uses, any good combos? Slightly obsessed with washing 😂

I like to add in essential aromatherapy oils! Peppermint is my particular fave it smells so clean

EerilyDeleted · 14/10/2020 19:10

Aldi washing powder as the fragrance disappears by the time the clothes are dry. No fabric conditioner.

Lolaloveslemonade · 14/10/2020 19:13

There’s a recent thread in housekeeping if you want to look OP.
Mine is yellow lenor with any supermarket non bio or persil.

How do you do this? Just put it in the drawer or in with the washing?

I know strong smelling clothes aren't for everyone 😂

Have ionising conditioner a long time ago. Gave up using all liquids when I looked closely at my ex washing machine innards. Yuck !!!
Use Ariel original and nothing else !!

HeronLanyon · 14/10/2020 19:47

‘ Gave up using’ not ‘ionising’ !

HeronLanyon · 14/10/2020 19:49

Every now and then I try to work out what bio and non bio mean but have never grasped it enough to know by the time I get to the supermarket shelf !

wheresmolly · 14/10/2020 19:50

Anything except the big brand ones that have horrible animal fat added!

chocolateoranges33 · 14/10/2020 19:57

I love the smell of washing powder and choose what I use primarily based on the smell! I use fairy powder (not gel or tabs) and fairy conditioner. I've got such a good nose for it I can tell which friends house/grandparents house they've been to by how they smell when they home! I can also work out which friend has left something at ours after a sleepover by smelling it. It's like my superpower!!!

HeronLanyon · 14/10/2020 19:57

Shock what ?

HeronLanyon · 14/10/2020 19:58

Sorry that was to wheresmolly

Rubyduby26 · 14/10/2020 19:58

I usually use lidl bio washing powder and my fave fabric conditioner is Lenor lavender and chamomile. I like the fairy snuggly soft conditioner too, and the blue unstoppables for things like bedsheets and throws!

snowone · 14/10/2020 20:00

Fairy non bio and method pink freesia conditioner is my new fave 🌸

GrouchyKiwi · 14/10/2020 20:03

I like Bold Lavender and Chamomile.

My osteopath liked the smell so much she started buying it too.

Sophoa · 14/10/2020 20:06

Pink surf. Amazing

Burrit · 14/10/2020 20:14

I currently love the ruby jasmine lenor and matching bold pods but I don't find it smells very strong and when I add the scent boosters it changes the smell and I don't like it haha, @Sophoa I used the pink surf for years and eventually got used to the smell I couldn't smell it anymore hahaha

Splosh powder and fabric softeners. Both concentrated and very effective.

Sontagsleere · 14/10/2020 20:28

There was a really interesting AMA about washing clothes from someone who used to work in washing detergent industry. I will have a look. All about temp to wash things at etc. I'm sure I saved it somewhere.

Sontagsleere · 14/10/2020 20:35

I developed laundry detergents AMA www.mumsnet.com/Talk/AMA/3308661-I-developed-laundry-detergents-AMA
