Am I the only one who hates Sundays. If we stay in I feel its a constant round of housework and housework for me. While the Kids watch too much tv.
I have decided that we will now try to all spend Sunday together as a family. A long walk in the cold winter air followed by tea out in a restaurant..Nothing fancy, Pizza hut or similar.

How do all your Sunday routines go?

Church and sunday school while my dp has a lie in - hs only one of the week.

Then we go to the beach with dd and the dog to work up an appetite for sunday dinner,

Then we tend to collapse into a heap, read papers watch telly etc.

When we feel the need to roam we might go to the lakes of Forest of Bowland if wasnting to ramble without the long drive.

We get up at the usual ghastly early hour that our children call morning (take it in turns to have a lie in till about 9!)

We have a special breakfast of croissants/pains au chocolat/danish pastries on Sunday. The it is bath/get ready/leave for church.

We get home at about 1pm, and have a snacky lunch. During the Grand Prix season dh watches his motor racing and the children like to join in - he lets them slob on the sofa with him and eat his tortilla chips! I don't mind, its only once a fortnight for about half the year, adn its the only sporting stuff he watches ... at least its not football .....

On non-grand-prix sundays we'll go out - to the beach or similar. If we are staying around the house we get out at least into the garden to let off some excess energy.

Every 3rd weekend dh is on call so we are at home all day - those days are much harder. But if he gets called out then we all go and the children and I go for a walk or something while he visits his patient.

We try to have a proper sunday tea, but it doesn't always work out.

Dh and I have a nice realxing sunday evening, bottle of wine, nice chat, spend some time together.

WE have a later start. Dh usualy cooks something nice for breakfast. We slob around for a bit and dh takes the kids swimming. I spend about 2 hours preparing lessons for the week. We have lunch all together, usualy soup and sandwitches and we read the papers. Afternoons often involve a trip to the park or cycling. I alawys cook a sunday roast which we have together. Finish off bits of homeowrk with the kids and then veg out when the kids have gone to bed.

One of us has an extra hour in bed, we take it in turns.
Then we go off early to the flower market and have croissants/pain au choc while dd dances to the buskers.
Then church followed by a bit of lunch either at ours or out with mates.
Hang out with friends/family in the afternoon - maybe a walk on the heath.
Family tea.
After dd goes to be we lie on the sofa watching rubbish. I like Sundays.

Sundays for me are
9ish get up, get showered then go to Church for 10am
Leave there 11.30-11.45
DH usually meets me or me plus boys and then we either come home have an easy lunch or go out for lunch.
Then we go off to English Heritage site or some other attraction. Museum or butterfly world etc..if it's bad weather.
After that we may visit in laws.
Come home and have tea then I get things ready for Monday. Dh watches american footie at the mo so I read or go on net.

Sundays are lovely in our houshold too...we take our DS to swim @8.45 and when we get home, DS is so wrecked, he usually sleeps for two hours. During this time, me and DH just laze around and talk. When baba wakes, we usually go our somewhere for a walk, to a plyground, to visit friends or simply into town and also, we go out for our Sunday dinner. :0)
Luckily, DS (11 months) eats pretty much anything and is very good natured, smiley little chap, so it is a joy to go out to a restaurant with him.
After we put him to bed, DH& I usually do ironing, tidy up and read or watch TV. :0)
