warms hands by holding them near NdP's face

Not being on it for weeks, coming back on tonight and feeling that I 'still belong' (especially finding out about the Yorks Xmas meal which I'm now on!)

When I have a question there is always someone who can answer it - there are so many experiences and experts on Mumsnet that I rarely start anywhere else now.

Laughter and warmth on tap for sharing.

Uwila · 11/10/2004 20:26

I can get advice from people who I'm absolutely certain are saying what they really think... no sugar coating here.

Also, if it's a touchy subject that you don't really want to advertise in the real world you can do it here without feeling too embarrassed.

Oh, and it's hopping well into the night.

Thomcat · 11/10/2004 20:44

I too steer clear of a row, once or twice I've been annoyed at something said but that's life, you can't have the ying if you don't have the yang! This site is amazing and is a constant source of support, laughs, advice, tips etc. Today I needed to know how to to get my child benefit number, what to do with my left over roast duck, and to chat about books, got all that and more. I don't know what I'd do without it.

MistressMary · 11/10/2004 20:47

Only discovered here a very short while ago and I must say it is great from what I have seen.
Wish I knew about this site from the start, better late than never eh?

willow2 · 11/10/2004 21:03

It has occurred to me but, as these flares up seem cyclical, do you think that we've all ended up in sync and have pmt at the same time?

WideWebWitch · 11/10/2004 21:04

ROFL Willow2! Dp has said it before...

willow2 · 11/10/2004 21:06

JanH · 11/10/2004 21:11

Ooh, zeb, you were one I was going to call but will start a new thread, not hijack this one, hang on a sec

WideWebWitch · 11/10/2004 21:17

willow, I am good thanks missus. True October, true. I get it really badly, my friend says it gets worse with each child so everyone who knows me is so glad I'm not having any more.

spook · 11/10/2004 21:28

I was thinking about this just the other day.
For playing a HUGE part in getting me through the worst year of my life. Couldn't have done it without you girls
Meeting Beccarollover (evil troll though she is) who is fast becoming a great great friend.
Meeting Anorak. One of the most inspirational and kindest people I have ever met.
For curing my sweaty pit.
For caring when my houdini hound ran away.
The list of names is endless. People I really care about, people who I look out for on most threads, peole who I am looking forward to being a part of my new life in London.
Every day someone new surprises me with the time and efort and care they put into helping other people.
I sound like a country and western singer now but I am well and truly hooked and I THANKYOU ALL

MissHoolie · 11/10/2004 21:31

Well I have only arrived - so why should I leave. Hello all. Sorry to have just gone in here head first but this seems to be the friendliest thread I have seen tonight. All very positive stuff. Hope to see you all about and chat. Thanks for reading.

The support that certain people hav e shown Spook is actually one of the best things about this site, and the support for Essbee.

Mumsnet also helped me and Esbee raise LOADSoney for the Down's Syndrome Association.

The presents that everyone sent to FairyFlys liitle boy ion his birthday when his dad ket him down.

The mums who got each other through filling out disabiltity living allowance forms.

Coody arranging vouchers for Nutty when she moved home and everyone clubbed together

The book vouchers blu organised for Nikki to help her with college

Do I need to go on anymore? I don't think so.
THAT is what mumnsnet is about. So some people say things that uopset you a bit, big deal, life's like that, just walk away and find a thread you do want to be part of or a thread where you can help someone else and don't get involved in petty pointless squabbles.

This site is what you make it, and I love it here.
