Hi,

Am a regular poster, but have namechanged for secrecy reasons (although I will probably come back on this thread later under my "real" name and out myself but hey ho!)

We have three children and are sort of ttc-ing for number four.

We need a new car as a fiesta isn't big enough for the five of us, never mind the six or seven that we might have in a couple of years.

MOT and tax are due on the fiesta and we are thinking of changing the car now.

So.... do we get a car that is big enough for the five of us because at the moment I am not pg, or do we get a people carrier that can carry 6 of us just in case we get a bfp in the next month or so?

Tis a dilemma
thanks

gearbox also in the dash on my car. According to HonestJohn, my grand scenic is only 6 inches wider than my old ford focus. It is about a foot longer though

lol, egg....if all fails there are always roofboxes...
depends on how big your Buggy is when foldet...mine had a Toddlerseat that was attached on top of teh canopy, and the seat could not be collapsed...so, we would have had trouble to put much else into the boot...I mean, bits and bobs, yes...but not lots of luggage....

However, I know that most 7 seaters basically loose their boot almost altogether, and that our boot is big

I have a Citroen C8 whcih has three proper seats across the middle, and another two in the back, so definately can get three car seats in. Pretty good boot space with all seat in/up, and amazing space with back two seats flipped over. Best bit is the sliding doors, and a better turning circle than DHs little Seat Ibiza . Best thing to do is test drive as many as possible/poke around in friends cars.

just looked at that Honda...but can't seem to find anywhere the mention of 6 seats...so is it like teh multipla, 3 seats in teh front and 3 in the back?

silverfrog · 21/09/2007 13:35

yes, the FRV has 3 in the front and 3 in the back. You can, if you want to, move both middle seats (front and back) backwards to create offset rows (and in fact you have to do this if you have a child in the middle front seat due to airbags) and you do then lose a bit of boot space.

3andnomore · 21/09/2007 13:35

duh, google decided to look for HRV's instead...indeed the frv one seems to havea similar layout to the Multipla...but it does look more stylish
Seems more expensive then the Multipla, though...

3andnomore · 21/09/2007 13:38

hehe...the funniest thing about owning a Multipla is, that if you have one, it's almost like a secret society you belong too, lol....

silverfrog · 21/09/2007 13:40

It is more expensive than the multipla, but I agree, more stylish too

We had an AUdi A3 before the FRV, and the two cars are almost exactly the same size - hard to believe really. They are the same length (how?! we never got anywhere near the same amount in the A3 boot!) and the FRV is 4cm wider. And for that you get an extra seat. 'Tis a marvellous car.

Doesn't get as good a review as the Multipla tho'

(fiercely defending her beloved car)

Yes. multipla owners are very freind;y

Egg · 23/09/2007 19:41

OK, we saw a Multipla in the flesh today as we walked through a car park. It really is hideous. Sorry, I don't mean any offence, but I just couldn't drive it. DH actually laughed out loud when he saw it . Also, it looked like it had no boot at all. Yes, nice wide seats etc but looks like it has had the boot removed.

And how do you drive with someone sitting where the gearbox should be? Don't you elbow them constantly?
