I can't drive
And don't wish to
Actually I tend to say "I don't drive". Like the Queen
Although unlike her I do carry money

Boco · 21/09/2007 16:52

I am so pathetic about driving that i can't actually drive at all.

I've been trying! But it is pathetic and i hate it and i hate this thread because it makes me feel even more pathetic and now i'm spinning around in a cycle of pathetic hatred.

Thank you very much you fully capable driving people. Thanks a lot.

bossykate · 21/09/2007 16:52

oh i have driven abroad i just haven't dren borad.

pooka · 21/09/2007 16:52

I was pathetically proud when i drove most of the way back from the south of France, at night and on the motorway. Dd make sure that had a changeover with dh before we hit the paris peripherique
Also, have yet to drive through London, i.e. south to north.
Despite this, ahs been a good year for driving as drove from Dorset to north north wales on my oewn in dark and then back from north north wales to se london on own too.

CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 16:52

dren borad??

is that welsh?

I can actually reverse park, as it is a prerequisite in our road, but driving is not an activity that comes high on my list of Enjoyable Things.

Also the father of my children is one of a line of car obsessives - they buy car magazines, they discuss cars, they watch car programmes - and that kind of puts me off even further.

Driving abroad is just like driving here!
I mean what IS the difference? Loads of countries even drive on the same side as us!

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 21/09/2007 16:55

ooh I love driving me.

Especially in London. Had a right ding dong on the A3 today. Kept me going the whole morning with adrenalin .

I've looked for that thread but can't find it.

I don't do bins. Not my job. That's mans work and I don't care who knows it. Especially bins with maggots .

motherinferior · 21/09/2007 16:56

Ah, bins hold no terror for me.

I don't do gardening, but I think that's just inclination rather than patheticness (patheticity?).

Mercy · 21/09/2007 16:57

I don't drive either - I can't tell left from right, read maps or anything - ultra pathetic.

dh has driven abroad - it is different! Even in countries where they drive on the same side of the road (eg, NZ)

CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 16:57

gardening is just muddy housework imo

Foxy I'm with you
I was gutted when they put lights on Hammersmith Broadway, I used to love cutting the out-of-towners up

oranges · 21/09/2007 16:58

You don;t usually get buffalo charging at you here.

CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 16:59

no true
but you do get deer leaping in front of cars

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 21/09/2007 16:59

I have an automatic because I prefer it. I can't be doing with all the flapping driving a manual entails. Flap flap foot clutch down flap flap hand change gear - I wonder wtf people are DOING if I get a lift in a manual car and then I realise - they're Making Their Lives Hard For Themselves

Mercy · 21/09/2007 16:59

I do bins but don't go into the attic [too short]

Actually I don't like ladders, they scare me.

CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 17:00

I had an automatic for a while when I had a bad hip

God it was dull
I kept nearly falling asleep driving

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 17:01

I am trying to think, I'm sure I'm pathetic woman about something

I am not keen on hanging pictures as our walls are so hard the nails just bend in half

OP posts:
Mercy · 21/09/2007 17:01

Has anyone ever seen a deer run across a road?

I see warning signs all over the place but in 44 years have never, ever seen one.

foxinsocks · 21/09/2007 17:02

deer and swans and geese (silly sods)

or especially in London, motorbikes and mopeds. Think they are almost worse than buffalo for jumping out in front of you.

CountessDracula · 21/09/2007 17:02

God yes
I have nearly hit one several times in Hampshire
I almost killed a nun once as a result of a deer leaping in front of car

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 21/09/2007 17:03

aaah Mercy, you do not hail from these parts. CD and I are practically surrounded by them.

motherinferior · 21/09/2007 17:03

I am also pathetic about quite a lot of things that involve reaching stuff. Am a shortarse with a bit of a heights phobia.

Gawd I'm making myself sound wildly attractive, aren't I.
