Me and DH are still undecided on names. Am 32 weeks and at this rate DS2 will be called baby XXXX for years lol!!!

We have a small list, some I love but DH hates, some he loves and I hate.

So far we have...

Callum
Reece
Leon
Eden
Troy

DS and DDs have welsh and irish names if that helps any.. thanks

Just tried to work out why my suggestion wasn't showing, then I realised this is another name thread! Doh.

Anyway, my suggestion is Russell.

sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 22:44

oh I hate choosing names, don't want nothing too popular, Connor wasn't that popular when DS was born nearly 10 years ago, now its everywhere. The girls have names that I didn;t think were that popular but are now in the top 100.

From your first list, I like Callum and Reece. I like both SoMuch and Ju's lists.

ju · 16/09/2007 23:10

Lilo no one EVER likes my suggestions

lilolilmanchester · 16/09/2007 23:12

their loss, Ju!

SoMuchToBits · 16/09/2007 23:14

Can't believe someone likes my list either (although I actually only really like Alistair off it, the others were just Scottish names I could think of ). Oh, well, at least you liked it!

I did, shame I won't ever be having another baby!! Hope Sparklygothkat finds something she and DH likes..... remember to let us know what you finally choose...

sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 23:24

its a 'mare because every name I suggest, DH dislikes, and every name he suggests I dislike. I will let you what we decide on, if we ever do

We were really like that with girls' names - it's a good thing we had a boy!

lilolilmanchester · 16/09/2007 23:27

been there.... with our first child, we eventually totally agreed on a girl's name. So had a boy. 2nd time, eventuallu agreed on a boy's name, so had a girl. Nightmare!!! There are so many lovely names out there, but hard when choosing for YOUR baby - and having to please your DP as well. Good luck! Maybe you just have to wait and see what the baby looks like, and that might help?

sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 23:31

I am not too worried about not having a name the second he is born, but would like a short (maybe 2-3 names that we have agreed on) list ready.

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 23:32

though I could do what I did with Dd2, I loved a name but DH wasn't sure, but as soon as she was born I said that name again and he said yes.. and I got my way

OP posts:
Gingerbear · 16/09/2007 23:33

Patrick (biased, obviously!)
Reuben
Lucas
Liam

Is it a boy then?

lilolilmanchester · 16/09/2007 23:34

My DD would have been called Mark if she'd been a boy. Still love the name, and will never get to use it.

sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 23:35

yes another boy we are over the moon that its a boy, so is everyone else, because out of 7 grandkids that are born already, DS is the only boy, Lisad is having another girl and I am having a boy

LongDeadMotherofHarryP · 16/09/2007 23:39

Oh, Wonderful!!

I have a bundle of 0-3 month old boy stuff - mainly sleepsuits and vests - you are welcome to them for postage if you like?

NappiesGalore · 16/09/2007 23:48

sparkly, dp and i were like this with no3 nearly here...

one day i came home and he had the kids easel set up in the kitchen covered with post-its with boys names on. even ones he had said he didnt like, and a fair few totally random ones. (obv he included all the ones id been alking about - leaving most of the ones he hated out of course!!) he asked me to remove the ones i absolutely vetoed. then go over once more removing ones i didnt really like that much. next i had to take each name and say how much i liked it. if i loved it it went to he top of the board, if less, it went lowwer. if i liked one more thatn another but less than stillanother, it went between them... till there were tiers of names. remove all but top 2 or 3 tiers.
then slog it out with whats left.
(hes such a 'manager' sometimes )

ended up with ds2's second name as ds3's first!

was kind of fun to do... you could do it with dh??

sparklygothkat · 16/09/2007 23:50

GB that would be great thanks
NG that sound like a great idea, though if I did that with DH, he would remove all my names straight away..

OK, will pack and weigh.
my email is dleafe at hotmail dot co dot uk. Send me your address?

NappiesGalore · 17/09/2007 00:16

youd be surprised...

i was surprised at the ones he had put up...and thus was surprised at myself for the ones i vetoed.not all of the ones i had been adamant about not having.

try it. if it goes wrong and you hate the result, just ignore it! hey, your pg, you can get away with unreasonable behaviour!!

sparklygothkat · 17/09/2007 00:19

will give it a go, got to be worth a try.

OP posts:
NappiesGalore · 17/09/2007 00:32

no arguments now! keep it fun (until you have to sulk coz you dont like the result, like
