Have bought a couple of pressies already and am starting to think about lists for the kids to send out to grannies....Ours is usually all done by end of this month.

LunarSea · 01/10/2004 14:12

Sort of - I've ordered a few things for ds, which need to come from the US via surface post (they are available here, but are MUCH cheaper there) although they haven't arrived yet.

dh and I will hopefully get a weekend away together around the end of November/early December while ds stays with grandma, so we'll do a lot of it then. Have to say that it will be a novel experience this year, working in a town centre for the first time in 7 years, so I'll get a lot more chance to look for things than I usually have done.

Angeliz · 01/10/2004 14:13

Have bought a few items for dd that i jus saw and HAD to have.
I also may get my mam and dads pressie this weekend before they sell out, (C.D rack)

Have finished ours - mostly done on internet and whilst on hols got people stuff in antique sho[ps and craft shops too - this is not normal in our house is just cause I will have a new baby and wont be arsed to walk around Bronmley or Bluewater - so I get it now - DP gets it all (and gets it wrong) or no one gets anything!!

KBear · 01/10/2004 14:27

Twinkie, as you're good at this and you've finished can you do mine?

I am going to Bluewater next week for a browse and listing making then come pay day I'll be off. I am going to try to economise this year - I say that every year though and never do!

pepsi · 01/10/2004 14:29

Have started, am going to print out my lists of who to buy for this weekend and decide what im getting. Bought cards in the sales last year and wrapping paper so I could do it all pretty quickly if I put my mind to it. Its the wrapping and writing cards that takes the time. I wrote about 100 cards last year.

Kayleigh · 01/10/2004 14:30

Have done a quarter of mine on the net, a quarter will be vouchers (older kids) and the rest will be done on my annual pigrimige to Bluewater in a couple of weeks time.

I buy stocking fillers for my boys throughout the year so have got most of those now. Just add a couple of chocolate things and they'll be sorted.

zebra · 01/10/2004 14:37

In process, have done lots of bits & pieces.

popsycal · 01/10/2004 19:22

I have started for ds although he isnt getting muchthis year (honest he isnt...). i am off into town tomorrow to do some more.

I wat it done by the endof october half term as i dont fancy trailling the shops at 7 months pregnant

coppertop · 01/10/2004 19:25

I think I'm doing extremely well if I've started the Christmas shopping before the beginning of December.

Hulababy · 01/10/2004 19:28

No, I never get started beyond end of November/beginning of December. I like to do it when the shops are all christmassy. But then we also have nowhere in the apartment to put presents if bought too early.

Done pretty much all of it, like to spread it out to spread out the cost.

SecondhandRose · 01/10/2004 19:41

Oh my God! Can't believe you're so organised. Must make more of an efort. Which websites will post from the US LunarSea?

cellulitequeen · 01/10/2004 22:54

Hi WF! Nice to be in contact again after our recent chat which was great fun. Any sign of the "K" word recently? I am very organised and usually start my shopping in Jan. Only a few prezzies to get now - but I am a Capricorn! xxx

handlemecarefully · 01/10/2004 23:01

I'm planning on starting imminently.

Also 2 year old dd wafted a mail order catalogue at me today, and pointing at a toy oven, said distinctly "want that", whilst fixing me with an earnest look. So I may as well go ahead and order that for madam.

Did most of it on the internet last year and have started to do the same this year.

linnet · 01/10/2004 23:28

We're going on holiday on Monday for a fornight. When we come back I'll be starting my christmas shopping. I need to start writing out my lists. I always buy wrapping paper and cards in the sales so that's all sorted. Just need to get presents organised.
I plan to be finished by the end of November as I go back to work after my maternity leave 2 weeks before christmas and I really want to be organised by then.

hoxtonchick · 01/10/2004 23:38

bought ds 2 stocking fillers today. am burying my head now til mid-december (a benefit of working too close to oxford st).
