Desperate last hope for lost precious cuddly bunny - can anyone help?

My dd has lost bouncy ben, her cuddly precious close friend and is devastated. we satyed with friends in london at the weekend and somewhere between there and home we have lost him.
We went to battersea park and then stopped at reading services on the M4 going west on the way back. i can only think he must have fallen out of the car when we stopped.
he is accompanied by a rather manky cotton holey banket and must have been seen by someone.
I called both places and they have had nothing handed in but i thought maybe a mumsnetter might have felt sorry for them and offered them a home - we have in the past been known to rescue a small cuddly dog from the motorway and are rather hoping that might have happened here.
This is rather a despreate last hope but was anyone in Battersea Park on Sunday morning or Reading services car aprk near the hotel on sunday lunch time? there were hundreds of people maybe one of them was a mumsnetter - we are desperate....TIA.

Not going anywhere special to send a postcard from but just wanted to bump for you. I thought you might be my friend who's dd lost a tiny mothercare bunny (again a true friend since birth) in the Science Musuem yesterday.

clutter - had a look in hamleys and the only squidgey bum rabbit i could see had a tag round its neck. I can't get into see your profile as i am at work but will have a look at home tonight and can go again tomorrow if i recognise him!!! SORRY!

AnAngelWithin · 15/08/2007 13:41

is it actually 'called' bouncy ben or is that the name dd gave it IYKWIM??

DrDaddy · 15/08/2007 13:42

Have you tried ebay? I just did a quick search on "cuddly toy rabbit" and it returned quite a few...Worth a try? Good luck

clutteredup · 15/08/2007 13:45

thank you so much 3littlepigs, that was just so kind of you.
angel, he was named bouncy ben by my then 3 yo ds and the name stuck.
i have emailed hamleys as angel suggested so i'll hope that will help.

Poor you and poor her. I wanted to cry too when I just read this. Have you tried calling Hamleys? If you really pressed how important it was I'm sure that someone there would be able to trace back the original supplier etc which would be a starting point.

clutteredup · 15/08/2007 20:30

thanks reindeermum, have emailed them. dh went in after work today and was told they might have a spare one unsold in their heathrow branch as they have the cast offs there. the problem is it is so cute it probably flew off theshelf, i will try and see if i can try to find out the supplier. dh pointed out if it wasn't a hamley's one we would have had a much better chance of replacing it.

reindeermum · 15/08/2007 20:42

Yes but Hamleys are a world reknowned shop who pride themselves on their fame and reputation. If you had bought it in Tesco, they might be less inclined to help your plight!

When you get a reply from your email - don't give up if you have been fobbed off by someone relatively unhelpful - I would keep trying by phone over and over again until I got someone quite senior (and helpful) there. They would definitely have a record of all their products past and present, and where they were from - you just need to find someone helpful there who will feel for you!!! Good luck. Do you have any photos of bouncy ben to post on here in case someone may have an identical one kicking around that their kid is not actually bothered about and would not miss???
