Afternoon. It's been snowing all day here, thin powdery stuff, just blowing around. Weird. We've just been out for our walk, it's blardy cold. The wind cuts you in two.

It is unnerving Helen, yes. I know I've got a faulty valve but that didn't cause the AF. I don't think. They said if it does happen again I can go to A&E or I can sit it out if I'm not too stressed about it and it goes away on its own. It lasted about two hours before it started to calm down. I'm trying to be blase about it, other people have much worse to put up with.

Afternoon wenches. I am at home! Was very snowy this morning on my way in and at work, so the bosses said we could close early. Woohooo! Mind you, by the time closing came the weather had changed and it wouldn’t have been a problem to stay open until the usual time. No no you’ve said we could go and we’re going!

So I’ve put the dishwasher on, put a wash on, made a brew and am watching last night’s Shetland with some nice treats from M&S.

We went for a family walk argument. It was lovely DS didn't winge at all but cheered up once he had picked up a few sticks. Most of the snow has been blown off the fields now... onto the roads It's very windy too, but I suspect we're getting off lightly re. the new storm that's coming in. best go and tuck the chickens up in bed.

LetUs. Yes, warm now. We watched Shetland last night. I think we've lost the plot, we may have nodded off during episode 2. There are too many actresses with similar hair. I even get Tosh and Cassie mixed up at a distance, both with dark pony tails. We're going to have to watch both episodes again.

Ocado probably will get to you badders, I've had their drivers moaning in teh past about how they get sent out in pretty much any weather. When we were still in verylargecity Ocado got through when even all teh local buses were cancelled.......

Agree that winter can go away now. I am watching Hawaii Five-0 in a bid to feel warmer and like I’m somewhere sunny and exotic. It’s not working.

I believe we were watching it because DH likes it, LetUs and I was too thick to get in there first with my watching preferences.

I too have to go out today on various prearranged running about stuff. (And we could do with more of life's little luxuries like milk and bread - if it hasn't all been panic bought already, in which case we will have to exist on cake and water)

Still bloody baltic here but have been out to LocalCity and LocalTown without incident (snowdrift contraflows and 10ft banks of snow don't count as incidents, impressive though they were...) The 10 foot snowman was impressive though
Lovely train staff at the train station were giving away free hot drinks. Was most impressed and being able to drink scald my mouth with hot chocolate on the drive back home.

Good point re. the wind LetUs - we should order in more rope (and chains ) for making sure every one thing is securely tied down in this weather.

Hope everyone is tucked up with the HBF of their choice while they sit out the current round of weather..

Hope you’re staying safe and warm Apricot. We’ve been very fortunate here with the snow. Pavements are a bit slippy in parts and it’s very sodding bloody windy, but we’ve escaped compared to most of the rest of the country.
