This more for people who had a big white dress. I know in the long run its not terribly important really but I am interested in some things so...

What did it look like? Picture?
Was it was you expected to chose?
How did you know it was 'the one'?
On your day did you feel perfect in it, do you think it was the right choice?
Did you feel uncomfortable in it during the day, eg if it was laced up did you feel restricted?
If it had beading on the bodice did it rub on your arms?
If it had a big train was that a pain to walk around with? Did you bustle it up in the evening - did it stay?
Did it feel very heavy?
Did you wear a veil? When did you take it off?

mine was gold - bronzy gold.

It was a bodice - boned - laced up the back and a full skirt. The top was a silk brocade and the skirt raw silk.

I had a full length veil, which lasted until the photos.

I loved it. When I walked into the church - everyone went ahhhh, think they were shocked/surprised - expecting white/ivory.

I felt special and loved wearing. In fact might try it on again soon.

here's mine scroll to bottom, cornelia

not what i envisaged, but ideal for the "all in one" event in the hotel.

i just knew it was the one but did try them one with a trusted dressmaker friend who was honest about style, fit etc - tried 30 altogether, this one and one big, puffy dress were the best

loved wearing it, no issues all day.

didn't wear a veil because didn't think the registry wedding suited veils but wish i did now.

I am a very plain person and hated all the meringue dresses with ribbons and bows and beads. I ended up with a gold silk fitted dress with round neck and it tapered out a t the bottom. Very plain and with no fuss, Dh did say it wasn't very bridey!!!!!!! But everyone else said that they thought it would be like that. I HATE FUSS!!

here So much prettier in rl - it is a sort of sparkly, goldy cream and fades down (that pic looks like it has a line round the knees!!)

No - I had a very different one in mind (similar to the end of Moulin Rouge)

I put it on and knew... The woman in the shop pulled it out and I hated it, she pleaded with me to just try it (and it wasn't for a quick buck because it was cheaper than the others I liked!), I gave in and put it on and it was the one (my mum cried ).

Yes - I felt perfect

I needed loosening off after dinner, but other than that it was fine

No rubbing and it did have beading

No big train..

Yes, weighed a ton - but when it was on and done up right, it didn't notice so much iyswim.

No veil - it detracted from how stunning the back of the dress was.

mine's on my profile's pics for a short time

was nearly 4 years ago

it was v comfortable. i wore a long scarf type thing in the same material instead of a train. dh stood on it in his size 12 shoes. i didn't wear a veil as i don't like them.

i tried on lots and this one was about £450

My sister made mine from v expensive silk which if I had been economising was unnecessarily expensive...but felt nice.

I tried on some but was size 16 so hard to try on. Loved one and DS(is) made sthg very like it.

Felt nice on the day, was simple princess line style with long full skirt and train. Couldn't throw my bouquet tho as cd not reach up arms lol.

Had a veil. Took it off in the end as my fabulous hair (big curly up do) deserved to be on show.

Mrs B love your dress.

smurfgirl would just say watch out for strapless (very popular tho not for me with my boobs) if DH is a lot taller than you. You can look as tho you are naked in close-up couplel shots of the kind they print in the local paper

Macdog I love yours as well, really different and medieval looking.
