OMG - do you really think it is??? I keep looking at the two versions of his signature that have been found (MP's and my 2nd link) and seeing 'differences' - then looking again and seeing similarities......

get it checked. cancel the listing untill you get it verified.

yes it looks genuine

sometimes those things aren't worth much though

don't get TOO excited

then again - woo hoo! you never know!

Nemo2007 · 13/04/2007 21:01

fannyannie how many times does your signature look slightly different???!!! I know mine does often. I really would have it checked you could be sitting on at least a holiday..lol

NutterlyUts · 13/04/2007 21:01

agree with misdee..

misdee · 13/04/2007 21:01

the A is very similar. get it verified.

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 21:02

MP - if it is genuine it's gotta be worth more than £2 I've got it listed for LOL.

Listing now cancelled..........now how do I go about getting it authenticated and valued????

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 13/04/2007 21:04

my signiture is never the same.

it always amazes me that mine differ so much....

Nemo2007 · 13/04/2007 21:05

Dh has said maybe contact an auction house and ask for help as if genuine it could be something that sold at southerbys or christies to check if it is reproduction or genuine.

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 21:07

I'm pretty sure the age is correct - I was about to reply to the question about publication date saying I'd managed to date it to pre-1900 (through other stuff on it) it's just whether or not the signature is real or not.......

OP posts:
Nemo2007 · 13/04/2007 21:08

any good?

Nemo2007 · 13/04/2007 21:12

might be worth emailing him as he might know some authenticators.

I am all excited for you..pmsl

NutterlyUts · 13/04/2007 21:13

I have my fingers crossed for you that this genuine, even if it only nets a couple of quid, because I can't think of a nicer person to get the luck xx

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 21:13

thanks Nemo - may send them an email in the morning.

well they say good things come in 3's and today I've found out we've got the Maternity Grant, that DC3 is no longer breech.....could this be the 3rd???

OP posts:
NutterlyUts · 13/04/2007 21:16

If this is the 3rd, then I think you should have Arthur or Sullivan somewhere in DS3's name

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 21:28

ooo maybe not LOL - first name already picked can't have an S as middle initial (DS2 already has one with same first inital) and don't really want a vowel....

OP posts:
Nemo2007 · 13/04/2007 21:31
