this week we are taking dd2 to SALT daily.

next week we are going to the zoo, woods, lakes and soft play/cinema(if weather is bad)

might go up to knebworth park one morning.

spudmasher · 02/04/2007 09:05

DD1 is really into the sewing machine so we are going to go to the material shop, buy loads of bits and make something.
DD2 wants to get her toys out and play!!!
She is in reception and really notices the lack of time to just sod about with her stuff.

We had swimming, pictures and park planned but it's all on hold at the mo as me and ds are poorly.

For now they will probably just play in the garden as it's nice and sunny.

sunnyjim · 02/04/2007 09:36

me - work
DH - work
DS - nursery

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 09:40

mark 25 bits of sixth form coursework!

then go to Holland with dh and the kids And dh is well enough to go to holland Because when this started before christmas I was wondering if I'd be able to cope with taking the kids on my own as I was sure dh would be dead by now.

So all very positive.

hippipotami · 02/04/2007 10:46

We had loads of things planned - taking the kids swimming, trip to Marwell Zoo, trip to the coast to fly kites...

BUT - our car has decided to pull a sickie. It won't go...
It is booked into the garage and they don't think we will have it back before Easter. We did think about hiring a car, but that is sooooo expensive...

Am gutted, and fed up, and disappointed, grrrrr bl**dy car!!

Never mind, we will have easter egg hunts in the garden, and take the kids into London on public transport. That will be an adventure in itself!
The coast and Marwell Zoo will have to wait.

MB - great news about dh, have a fantastic time in Holland (I love Holland, but am Dutch so somewhat biased!! )

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 10:49

Love Holland, and the dutch as so kind. And helpfully all speak perfect English to help the idiot British monoglots

This is our 4th visit with the kids, fifth time for dh and me.

Also feel 'secure' knowing the dutch health service is good, in case of emergencies with dh IYSWIM

Can't wait!

misdee · 02/04/2007 10:52

ooo and at holland.

Sherbert37 · 02/04/2007 10:53

Holland is great. An undiscovered gem of a country. We had some lovely holidays on the coast when the DCs were small at their equivalent of Centre Parcs. Enjoy your break MB.

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 10:54

When peter gets the new heart, you have to go. It is fabbo for the kids and a week there is cheaper than a weekend in centre parks in the UK! Including the channel crossing!

How is he now btw? And how are you??? [worried emoicon needed]

hippipotami · 02/04/2007 11:11

MB - whereabouts in Holland are you going?

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 13:08

Duinrell near the Hague. Great campsite/themepark/ water park. Our kids love it. We will also be visiting mates who now live localy which will be fun.

AnAngelWithin · 02/04/2007 13:09

wait in all week for the housing place to come and fix the long list of repairs i have thrown at them. i am NOT leaving the house until i have hot water and can have a bath and wash my hair!!

lionheart · 02/04/2007 13:14

I came across this book on amazon last night.

I'm thinking this might be good ammunition to persuade DP to go camping.

I'd love to take them somewhere they could roam in the woods, paddle in a stream and have more freedom ... (I might like it too).

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 02/04/2007 13:15

No plans here! Hoping for nice garden/park weather as just sold car (no new one yet) so have to stay local. DH taking kids to Robot Wars demo thing next Sun and I will have afternoon of peace in which to spring clean kitchen without interuptions!

nikkie · 02/04/2007 13:45

Painting my backyard and wendy house, having a major clear out to car boot at the w/e

Swimming, park, allotment, probably go up to Fell footy or Brockhole one day too.

kslatts · 02/04/2007 14:48

I'm really excited as we are off to Dorset on Thursday for a long weekend.

hippipotami · 02/04/2007 16:59

OMG, MB - Duinrell. I have fond memories of that place. I grew up in Zoetermeer, neer The Hague.

I wish you a fab time, and don't forget to pig out on the hagelslag!!

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 17:01

and the pofetjis (sp????? ) with lots of lurverly butter and icing sugar!

You should take your kids, if you haven't been there since you were little. The place is great for younger kids. Fab theme park, and superb water park. You should look for it on google earth! Fantastic!

hippipotami · 02/04/2007 17:05

oh yes, poffertjes with sugar and butter....

have just looked at the duinrell website - it has changed sooo much!
will definatley go there within the next year or so - the kids would love it, and so would we.

enjoy it, you so deserve it. and I order you to have at least one hagelslag sandwich per day, otherwise you are not in holland!!

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 17:10

It is just so much fun for the kids. We have been 3 times before, and to be honest, our kids talk more about Duinrell than they do Disney.

It think it is the bikes and the relative freedom that they have.

Excellent value as well.

hippipotami · 02/04/2007 17:13

My youngest is only just 4, so perhaps another year or two of building on her swimming lessons, and increasing her confidence on a bike.

And then, Duinrell, here we come!

Will have to take a spare suitcase for all the Dutch groceries I want to bring back with me...

Blandmum · 02/04/2007 17:15

They make all the littlies wear armbands. they are very strict about it. My ds is quite a tall boy last year, when he was 6 he was just on the line. But the (very nice) lifeguards kept checking him! He swims like a fish anyway, but it was nice to see them so on the ball.
