The bathroom. I bathe the children there but it is unofficially my sanctuary.

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2007 20:36

MrsB my slash writing den is still full of junk and crap and we have decided that when it is finally cleared out, it will be a spare room

I did have one once though, with a previous partner before I had ds

it was a largish light and airy room with a single mattress on the floor, with an Indian cover on it, a big rug, my favourite pictures on the walls, and 4 bookcases full of books

oh and my own private phone line

MummyTL · 30/03/2007 20:42

Yes. I'm sitting in it. Desk, bookcase, filing cabinet, whiteboard, comfy chair, footstool, stereo, tv. My DH has his own room too, but it's not as nice as mine. I don't think we'd have lasted this long if we didn't have our own spaces.

Legacy · 30/03/2007 20:43

Don't be , but yes, I do...

It's a large loft room, painted cream and red. Has large opening double doors and one of the those fake little balcony railing thingies.

Our garden has lots of pine trees and redwoods, so in the summer with the doors open it feels as if I'm up there in the trees - I can smell the bark and needles.

It's my office, so has my desk & books, a leather chair and a spare bed in the corner which gets used for guests.

I love it. DH has to coax me out of it.....

MummyTL · 30/03/2007 20:43

bunnypeculiar, my FIL built himself one of those posh cabins in the garden and it looks fantastic, but is REALLY cold.

snipersmum · 30/03/2007 20:50

my room is the childen's playroom - they never set foot in it, so I am guaranteed an uninterrupted phone conversation.....

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2007 20:50

yes - but it is untidy and full of crap

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2007 20:52

Bit like my head

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2007 20:52

Smurfgirl · 30/03/2007 21:13

Not technically but the living room is mine I guess I spend most of my time here when df is at work, I chose whats on TV, I have my big light for my cross stitch, lots of books. Cream walls, cream carpet.

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2007 21:19

I'm just fine Franny - shucks, thanks for looking out for me . Am touched.

It was just a self deprecating joke. I'm dieting atm and a glass of sparkling wine has tipped me over the edge, lol

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2007 21:22

Oh well in that case

belt up you ruddy lightweight

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2007 21:23

To answer the thread more seriously, my room is about twice the size of a standard box room. It has a desk, pc and printer. The walls are sort of bland magnolia...and there are piles of things to 'sort' all over the floor....(children's clothes etc). Really should try to make it a cosy personal retreat - there's some value in that.

Like the sound of Fennel's shared 'library'

monkeytrousers · 30/03/2007 21:25

what, in the Virginia Woolfe sense?

PC is in the sitting room. Don't think so.

i would love a small box room of my own. at the moment my stuff is all in boxes on top of my wardrobe, and hunting for needles, hair, stuffing etc is hard work. would love to have it all organised and easily accessable where i wont wake dd3 up if i need to get something late at night.
