I don't but would love one. I could resume my artistic hobbies, although where the time would come from I don't know.

DP has the use of the outbuildings -its his workshop/storage for work really but its also his little cave that he can retreat to for peace and quiet

When we convert the loft, I shall have a 'sewing room'. I do sew, but really it's going to be just my room, for me to 'potter' in the way that dh 'potters' in the garage/workshop. Wouldn't be much point in one now, as dd is only 3 and my chances of escaping to a room of my own are pretty remote. But the children will get older, we will need to convert the loft, and it will happen...

HoppyDaddy · 30/03/2007 11:33

Not a room, per se. If I go into the loo, I get plenty of space, though .

Radley · 30/03/2007 11:36

LOL Hoppydaddy

I have room to myself, although it is only temporary! We are in the process of building an extension so the very small dining room is mine for now. Once the ext is done, this room will be part of it so I'll loose my space. I've got TV, sofa, dining table & pc. It's not much, but its mine - all mine!

MarsLady · 30/03/2007 11:42

No!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Issymum · 30/03/2007 11:43

Yes. But it's very small and dominated by a huge, modern office desk and swivelly chair and I use it only when I'm working from home. The walls are a dirty white and it has an ancient pair of faded aqua silk curtains. I've been wondering for a while whether, even on a shoe string budget, I couldn't transform it into something altogether lovelier........

NoodleStroodle · 30/03/2007 11:54

No and I sooo want one for my drawing board and pens. And it would be light and airy and all white and Nobody else would come in and disturb my stuff. As it is I have a new utility room which when we were first talking about it the children thought was the Activity room. So I do have an Activity room of my own with the WM & TD and iron! There would somehow always be a pot of daffordils on the desk!

NuttyMuffins · 30/03/2007 12:07

My bedroom yeah, tis full of everyone else junk though.

frogbollock · 30/03/2007 13:57

I have my own office at home, not that I ever do anything in there, just MN...

Also have a room called the ironing room where the ironing piles up and I sit & read as it's v. sunny. I really like that one, it's all pink rose prints and pink gingham (guess who never had a girl but kinda wishes she did).

bubblerock · 30/03/2007 14:10

Lots, lol, It's still a bit up in the air since changing from a hotel to a house, I keep rearranging things but I'm sure I'll settle eventually. You definately grow into the space you have though!

nailpolish · 30/03/2007 14:13

Issymum you could definitely do something with that

its not dosh you need its time though

nikkie · 30/03/2007 17:58

My bedroom is just mine, I also get the utility room if that counts! The kids take over the rest of the house!

warthog · 30/03/2007 19:53

Only in my dreams.
I dream of a boudoire which is mine and mine alone. It smells of me and no other fucker and any dirt or untidiness therein is mine.

sort of, we have a 'study' which doubles as ironing room and general dumping ground and DH rarely uses it (although he does do the ironing ) but it isn't decorated/personalised and would be a bedroom if the DTs didn't share, but then they have a playroom so don't need too much bedroom space (and this means sitting room is adult space most of the time)

pageturner · 30/03/2007 20:21

I do (and so does dh, though he works from home, so really needs it).

It's not very big: it is blue, has bookshelves covering one wall up to the door, plus another small bookcase. I have a big table for my computer and stuff, and a bureau. And I have a CD player/radio. And a filing cabinet. And there's a fireplace: on cold winter days I light a fire and push the door to...it's bliss.

It is usually a terrible mess though. there's too much stuff in it because I dump things in here and I never have a chance to clean and tidy it because it's last on the list of priorities. However, I did have a clear out in here last Saturday afternoon, threw out loads of stuff and cleaned, properly, for the first time in...ahem...rather a long time.

I love my room!

bunnypeculiar · 30/03/2007 20:24

No, and I work from home so I need one - currently have a corner of dd's room.
I want one of those lovely posh shed things down the garden - have this visiion of myslef working with big patio doors open onto the garden, thinking great thoughts & watching the butterflies

Milliways · 30/03/2007 20:25

I have my chair!
