Did you know that wine comprises 85% water, 12% alcohol and 3% of other.

The other can be grouped as follows (not exhaustive btw since 1000 components have already been identified):

Acetaldehyde
Glycerol
Higher Alcohols
Sorbitol & Mannitol
Sulfites (usually gets a bad press as a food preservative even though it is naturally occuring, especially, sodium compound plus our body produces it)
Acid (mainly tartaric, malic, citric, and succinic)
Amino Acids
Esters
Minerals
Phenols
Sugar
Volatile acidity (Volatile acidity refers to the steam distillable acids present in wine, primarily acetic acid but also lactic, formic, butyric, and propionic acids).

So based on that, who is going to stop drinking wine?

Fruit shit smokes are ok, but only in moderation.

Funnily enough-in response to the OP-I have recently switched to vodka and tonic and find that I definitely feel better the morning after without the wine.

Hasn't stopped me drinking it completely (2 bottles yesterday...hic) but I definitely get more manageable hangovers with voddy.

Is this where you eat loads of fruit, have a crap, and then roll it up to smoke it?

Can someone explain to me though, what is actually nice tasting about alcoholic beverages - any of them - unless they are topped up with lemonade?

Not quite rhuby. They are ciggies made from the shoots of young fruit trees, that have been carefully dried, and rolled and smoked. They are crap to smoke.

MOST alcoholic beverages taste FOUL to me. I dont get why folk like to drink day in day out.

There are some okay tasting red wines, and some okay whites, but, i find they have to be incredibly sweet for me to be able to sip.

Depends on the beer.

Flowers IPA is a lovely light beer - you should try that.
