DH's uncles mercedes. A lot of guests walked and relations ferried the non walkers. I ordered a taxi from a local firm to get my mum to the church, I knew they had nice big dark cars, so I just phoned the day befored and said please send one of the nice ones, they did .

A carriage and pair.

Actually I used do horse drawn carriages for weddings years ago (paid pretty well for a bit of spit and polish on- and we once had a couple of guys (groom and best man) who didn't want the carriage but did want a couple of horses with western saddles so they could rid to the registry office in their country and Western gear!

We had my FIL's ancient but wonderful pale blue open topped 2CV, decorated in sunflowers galore ! It was gorgeous under the bright blue sky and 38 degrees sunshine - wouldn't have been the same in the rain over here !!!! (It was in France by the way).

Saw a programme on TV last week, couple wanted to arrive at their reception in a bentley in the lift in the hotel..... car turned out to be 3 feet too long to fit into the lift though.

A golf cart - we didn't have to leave the resort premises

God it was complicated. We used our own car to get from the hotel to the registry office. Me, DH and DS.

We got married in Abergavenny. Once at the registry office I asked my best man (MY best man, note, DH had his own) to go to the car to get something for DS, which he did.

At the end of the ceremony we all stood on the lawns and cracked open the champagne. Much merriment and mirth all round. We dispatched everyone into their cars and somehow me and brand new husband were last, with my mum and her sister, and two female friends of mine (who my mum was supposed to be giving a lift to). Then we realised Our Car Keys had gone off with My Best Man. We tried phoning (fat chance, we were up in the hills so no signal) So I ended up travelling back to the hotel with my mum, my aunt and my son. My newly wedded husband and our two friends had to walk into Abergavenny to find a taxi. By sheer coincidence friend saw a former colleague of hers at the traffic lights, bounded up and begged a lift for the groom et al up to the hotel. And she obliged!

Whatever you choose, don't drive yourselves!

None, did it all in one place and stayed there overnight too (big beautiful country house here

Taxis. The taxi firm did take some convincing that we were serious about ordering seven...

flutterbee · 15/03/2007 21:57

we hired this

Only 2 or 3 in the country I believe.

My brother's (black) Mitsubishi Evo for me on the way to venue (mind you, we did get married on 6.6.6 ), DH drove himself, then DH's Audi on the way to hotel
