1 a day, do it when I get in from work on work days or mornings when off. At weekends I do more and try and get the sheets done but sometimes can't be bothered. Depends on if it is sunny.

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:16

Hmmmmmm about a load a day, but I have a big drum machine (7kg). In our old machine (standard 4.5kg capacity) it was more like 2 day. That's for 5 people - Me, DH, DS1 (12), DS2 (10) & DD (22mo).

muddaofsuburbia · 06/07/2004 16:17

2 loads a day every other day, including nappies.

NomDePlume · 06/07/2004 16:19

Although I also 30min quick wash the DS's uniforms when they get in from school every day so make that 1.25 loads a day !

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:19

oh so 2 is normal then

good
ndp you would confuse hte issue with your BIG drum

OP posts:
codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:20

ndp do you not have a spare set?

do they stand around shivering? Lol

OP posts:
oliveoil · 06/07/2004 16:21

Shall we get competitive on drum sizes like men do with their car engines?

NomDePlume · 06/07/2004 16:22

LOL ! We do have a spare set but it's no bother to chuck them in and hang them in the airing cupboard to dry overnight.

I'll take my big drum and bog off then, shall i ?!

Northerner · 06/07/2004 16:23

I've only got a small drum, but size isn't everything you know.

NomDePlume · 06/07/2004 16:24

Also they get so bloody grubby that lying in the washbin for days just gives the stains a chance to really work themselves in !

Note to self - Get a grip....

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:24

do you change after school then? omg cant be arsed
altho a kid in a's class changes into leisure wear before she goes to her swiming lesson!

OP posts:
codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:25

ndp you are sounding like you need lakaland!

OP posts:
oliveoil · 06/07/2004 16:26

Its what you do with it that counts

oliveoil · 06/07/2004 16:27

I have ordered a Lakeland catalogue today to peruse whilst in housewife mode.

Note to self as per NDP - get a life

NomDePlume · 06/07/2004 16:29

ROFL Coddy, perhaps I do...

Kids do change when they get in, 'cos they go out and play with their friends on bikes, in puddles etc.

One last boast about my big drum and then i've got to and be a parent - The great thing about my machine is that I can wash all 4 sets of bedding (1 k/s + 6 p'cases, 1 dbl + 2 p'cases, 1 sgl + 3 p'cases & 1 cot sheet). It kills 4 birds with one big drummed stone

Speaking of which, I only came upstairs to put the sodding washing on the maiden (clothes horse, airer thingy). Needless to say that it's still languishing in its bucket on my bed !

NomDePlume · 06/07/2004 16:32

Plus the fact that my boys are 10 & 12 and would be MORTIFIED if I made them play out (they'd cringe at that too) in their uniforms, it has to Quiksilver this and Billabong that.

Northerner · 06/07/2004 16:34

And now she's showing of with her king size bed and 6 pillow cases. (6!!!!)

Northerner · 06/07/2004 16:34

What the f**k is Billabong?

I have a lot to learn.

Fio2 · 06/07/2004 16:37

you have three pillows each NDP, dont you get a stiff neck?

oliveoil · 06/07/2004 16:40

Billabong is a surfer type designer stuff, I had some nice low slung shorts once when travelling. This was pre wobbly belly (sob)

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:40

its to support her enoiormous head form that drum thing!

( kidding)
