I get up at 7, dd1 gets herself up at 6.30, she goes to high school and leaves 7.45, i sort out other 3, we leave 8.45 as we live opposite the school! Up at 7.15, out by 8.15, sounds organised to me!

gobshite · 09/03/2007 15:09

I get up at 7, wake the boys, go back to bed. Get up at 7.10, wake the boys again, go back to bed. At 7.20 my phone goes off for the last time, so I get up, wake the boys, and day begins. Wee girl gets up sometime before 8.

Boys leave the house at 8, wee girl at 9.15

pinkchampagne · 09/03/2007 15:10

nearlythree · 09/03/2007 15:10

6.30 (which I've never done inmy life before) Feed baby ds, get the dds ready for school and pre-school, drop off dd1 then dd2, home at 9.30 to give ds his breakfast.

pinkchampagne · 09/03/2007 15:11

Sorry, didn't add other details!
Get up at 7am, have 2 children to get ready, one to nursery & one to school (I also work at the school) & leave house at around 8.25am

fannyannie · 09/03/2007 15:12

I have 2 kids to get up - only one to get to school though (atm). Get up at 8am, leave the house at 8.50

littleolwinedrinkerme · 09/03/2007 15:35

Up @ 7.00 two dd's, 1 to nursery the other to school and me to full time job - leave house at 8.40 ('ish )

USAUKMum · 09/03/2007 16:16

2 kids to get ready to leave the house at 8:30. Kids wake up anytime from 5:45 - 6:50am. (they then have to come in bed and have a cuddle and a story -- I have nightmares of having 2 teenagers in my bed having stories read to them ) Always out of bed by 7:10 latest.

aol · 09/03/2007 16:18

Harman - when I was single mother to four, I would get up really early, around six, and have everything ready the night before. It gave me time for a very civilised shower/make up/coffee before getting the children up.

Killed me at first but worth it to avoid that dreadful first thing rush.

zubb · 09/03/2007 16:21

Up at 7, 3 kids ready to leave the house by 8.15 - they are 5, 3 and 1 so still need most things doing for them in the morning.

saadia · 09/03/2007 16:23

I get up at 7, have two kids ready to leave by 8.25.

Mercy · 09/03/2007 16:25

I get up at 6.30/6.45 (although I may be awake for up to an hour before hand thanks to ds), get 2 children ready and leave at 8.50. I need every second of those 2 hours! (also I have to allow extra time in case ds has a tantrum etc because I have to get them ready on my own)

binker · 09/03/2007 16:25

6 am - so I can shower, get ready,do breakfast and do any chores so they aren't waiting for me later - and I hate being up that early, especially when it's still dark outside - so depressing.

DumbledoresGirl · 09/03/2007 16:26

I get up at 7:30. I have 4 children to get ready but 3 walk to school by themselves and leave at 8:30. I take the youngest to playgroup at about 8:55.

I could do with an extra 10-15 minutes porbably, particularly as I don't think the older ones wash half the time and I would like to be able to supervise them, but mainly, I have everything down to a fine art and it is not too rushed.

Earlybird · 09/03/2007 16:26

One child, up at 6.30 leave the house at 8.

When do we switch to summer time?

ambercat · 09/03/2007 16:26

Up at 7.10, get 3 kids up at 7.20, leave house at 8.20

tissy · 09/03/2007 16:27

One child, one husband get up at 5.30 leave at 7.40 ish

5.30 I get up so I can have a shower in peace

Go downstairs, put kettle on, wipe and lay table (cat sleeps in kitchen, can't do it night before)

6.15 wake dd and dh get myself dressed

6.30 wake dd and dh again take dd to loo, downstairs and try and get her to decide what to have (toast or cereal)

7.00 dh struggles downstairs I struggle upstairs to get dd dressed (if I dressed her before breakfast her uniform would be dirty before we left the house) dh makes dd's and my sandwiches

7.10 deposit dd in sitting room, while I rush round checking school bag, my briefcase, curtains opened, beds pulled back, kitchen door locked cat not in bedrooms do dd's hair

7.30 clean teeth (me and dd)

7.40 ish leave house

I'm still amazed that it takes over 2 hours to do all this, but I c an't cut it down any more. If I did the sandwiches the night before, dh wouldn't have any reason not to get out of bed till 7.30!

TwirlyN · 09/03/2007 16:30

OMG How do you get through breakfast, brushing teeth, washing, getting dressed, bags, polish shoes etc and coats on in 40 mins? I only have 2, who wake up between 5 and 6. We are normally eating breakfast, making packed lunches between 7-8 (dog also needs walking) bla bla blur blur, thomas tank at 8.30, relaxed cup of tea for me, out gogogogogo 8.45.

bakedpotato · 09/03/2007 16:32

Used to get 2 dcs up/dressed/fed in 40 mins. I seemed to spend the whole time shouting 'hurry up' and we were all miserable.
Added an extra 20 mins and there's a real improvement, we do start the day in better moods.
(This is a lot to do with lighter mornings and will, I'm sure, unravel next autumn.)

compo · 09/03/2007 16:33

tissy, can I ask what time you get to bed? I would love to get up earlier so I feel more human when ds gets up at 6am but I just can't face it!

ComeOVeneer · 09/03/2007 16:34

Alarm goes of at 7.30 up at 7.45 DD is already dressed by then, get ds dressed take both of them downstairs and give them breakfast. Whilst they are eating I shower and dress, come down dh has made coffee he takes lo's up for teeth cleaning whilst I have coffee. then shoes and coats and out the door 8.25 to drop dh at station then over to school. I do the clearing up from breakfast and make the beds when I get home and all book bags pe kits etc are ready at by the door the night before. I don't understand why it takes people so long in the morning.

tissy · 09/03/2007 16:35

tend to be in bed by 10, most nights, but read till 10.30 or so.

tissy · 09/03/2007 16:36

have to add, I got into the habit of going to bed very early when pregnant (felt so ill) and when dd was tiny (so knackered)and never really got out of the habit. Dd didn't sleep through till she was at least 2, and has only been a reliable sleeper in the last year!
